Hi, I think that pacifism,

Hi, I think that pacifism, as advocated by Ghandi in the overcoming of British imperialsim proved itself very effective. When Martin Luther King, Jr. made great strides towards the equal treatment and cessation of segregation, the civil rights movement utilized the same Satyagraha techniques formulated by Ghandi. Ghandi also envisioned a utopian society that he described as anarchism. If you study languages such as Sanskrit, you might learn that the word 'karma' translates to 'action.' If you study Newtonian physics, you probably understand that action has an equal and opposite reaction. I propose that this law of the universe is both physical and metaphysical. Putting it another way, violence begets violence. How can you put out a fire with more fire? Would water not work better? I personally hold the opinion that violent 'anarchists' do more to tarnish the principles of liberty and cooperation which an anarchist utopia would require. I also hold the opinion that certain people who pose as anarchists are nothing but agent provocateurs who would give the rest of us a bad name to keep the current status quo intact. Also, non-violence is the only solution, for no other reason than 'the man' has a seriously trained killing and brutalizing force which could quash any violent uprising. On top of it all, an anarchist utopia really needs to be global, as nationalism has proven itself a pox on society.
Kind Regards,
Geoffrey
