On this episode, we speak with Sam about the recent Block Cop City speaking tour across the US and the upcoming mass actions in Atlanta against the Cop City project from November 10th – 13th.
We also speak with hosts of the Final Straw podcast about the recent Asheville Anarchist Bookfair about organizing anarchist and autonomous events in the current terrain with COVID-19 still a looming threat, how to make gatherings accessible and engaging to as many people as possible, and much more.
Finally, millions of people across the world are taking to the streets in solidarity with Palestine. Did anyone listen to the
Did anyone listen to the episode or know if it deals with the (pretty serious) criticisms of Block Cop City that were raised here recently?
stop block cop city

it does not mention any
it does not mention any criticism of SCC at all.
I would have been interested
I would have been interested to go see the tour but BSA trashed them pretty bad, I guess I would be interested to hear the other side if there is one…
the other side
This is the other side, I guess?

the "other side" would be ...
the "other side" would be ... accepting mass leftist organizing as a fraught but sometimes worthwhile thing at all? ever?
it's too broad and innocuous to summarize, for the most part
what all these critiques seem to miss, with their radical sanctimony and paranoid alarmism, is that mass organizing is just the flesh and blood and tissue of an anticapitalist environmental movement. of course anarchists should be careful about how they relate to and interact with non-anarchists but a lot of these critiques seem to imply (or declare) they should be attacking the movement?
that's just sawing off your own legs. it serves the state. you're being played and turned against each other. WHO BENEFITS?!
its gonna be wild af prob too
its gonna be wild af prob too late to make travel plans now though. basically, affinity groups from all over are gonna have a spokescouncil and decide exactly how but they are going to march directly into the zone and shut down construction. I have been reading all the "critiques" with an open mind but it seems like its just kind of edgelords mostly just making excuses not to participate now that the repression is very serious, because i dont see people like going the extra mile on the sabotage or any other proposal. all the normal critiques ppl voice are also things you can hear bcc organizers themselves voice and talk openly with ppl about at the actual talks
That's what they did last
That's what they did last time, they're doing the exact same thing again?
That is not what happened
That is not what happened last time whatsoever
