Call for anarchist blocs in Warsaw and Berlin on February 24

From Pramen

We publish appeals by comrades from two European cities for the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Comrades from Germany report that their call on the German indymedia has already been removed without explanation.

Meetings places:
Warsaw — Skwer Tarasa Szewczenki // 15:30
Berlin — Unter den Linden (U-Bahn station) // 12:00

Join the anarchist block on February 24 in Berlin!

We, the various anarchist groups in Germany, invite you to join us in a demonstration on February 24 in Berlin, the anniversary of the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine who are fighting for their lives and freedom from imperial domination and terror.

On this day, we want to call on the international community to actively protest against the policies of their countries calling for a ceasefire and negotiations with the Putin regime. A ceasefire at this stage will only give Russia a rest and a foothold in the occupied territories, so that it can later strike again at Ukraine and other countries with full force. The subject of “peace” negotiations at this stage is the lives of people in the Russian-occupied territories, people suffering from unprecedented repression and terror. The negotiations are preparing the ground for a new war.

We say NO to any cooperation with the Putin regime. We express solidarity not only with the anarchists/anti-authoritarians fighting on the frontline or engaged in humanitarian work, but also with the entire Ukrainian society, which has been resisting and fighting the consequences of Russian aggression for two years.

Fragile peace breeds more war

"We express solidarity not only with the anarchists/anti-authoritarians fighting on the frontline or engaged in humanitarian work, but also with the entire Ukrainian society..."

Including the Azov Regiment, Right Sector, the cult of Bandera, the alliance with NATO, the draft, and attacks on Roma?

Including Roma, Tatar and any other people's that are fighting against Russia. Our solidarity can be critical, but it doesn't mean we will start checking political identities of every person we are standing next to. We do not support any fascist or other extreme right ideology (as well as any authoritarian left).

So you're ok with a United Front with (and let's be honest, dominated by) fascists...

Why do you think that current resistance against russian invasion is dominated by fascists? Would like to hear not only your personal opinion, but preferably links to respected researches that would back up your thoughts/feelings.

And the ones who stopped, harassed and prevented the Arab, African, Iranian, Afghani (basically non-white) international students at the border and prevented them from fleeing the war? In solidarity with them too? Cause hell no.

>A ceasefire at this stage will only give Russia a rest and a foothold in the occupied territories, so that it can later strike again at Ukraine and other countries with full force.

this is literally warmongering. I thought the pro ukraine crowd was trying to portray themselves as the *real* anti war position, but this is just a call to extend the slaughter. If anarchists in eastern europe want to risk their life fighting for the army of a capitalist oligarchy, go ahead, but I will never ever be supporting my government or NATO in giving weapons to another state.
Would anyone like to have sex?

So you think the slaughter would end if the Ukrainians accepted a "ceasefire"? That nice old Putin would peacefully stop his aggression and his efforts to take over all of Ukraine? Ah, we "warmongers" are not so naive. Just as during the Vietnam war we denounced calls for "negotiations." The US then had no business being in Vietnam and nothing to negotiate except to get out (Our slogan was "Out Now!"), And Putin has no business being in Ukraine and nothing to negotiate but his army's withdrawal.

I still don’t understand why you think the Ukrainian state has a right to rule those territories that Russia doesn’t.

Honesty yes I think the slaughter will stop when the west stops providing arms to Ukraine and they are forced to negotiate. The destruction of civilian life cannot be in any way compared to the scale of slaughter in Gaza, by the way, in terms of the proportion of the population and the rate at which it has happened. I understand that you don’t really care about that though…

If you would put a bit more efforts into understanding the mechanisms of state violence and power dynamics in Eastern Europe, you wouldn't be writing anything like. And BTW nobody is asking you to do anything. You can continue fighting internet wars with the full rage of ignorance.

genuine question are you against the anarchists in the west who materially sabotage nato? does critical support to ukraine mean supporting the US/UK/Germany's weapon sales to ukrainian government?

Being against something for us involves active opposition. We have little to no influence on western anarchists. Divide between eastern european anarchist movement and west unfortunately continues to grow.

As for theoretical question - it is indeed fine to sabotage NATO or any other militarist machine as you see it fits your local struggle unless it influence struggle somewhere else in negative way. Nobody was trying to sabotage US support of Kurds in their struggle against islamic state. But it didn't paralyze the struggle against military industrial complex in US that had focus on other more important things.

You don't have to support weapon industry nor supporting weapon sales to ukrainian government - just don't stand on the way of those deals at this moment, as they are made more in interests of ukrainian people, than most of the deals done in EU at the moment in connection with Eastern Europe. However you can criticize the profit logic of the market that makes huge gains while solidarity work with Ukrainians is currently based on volunteers basis.

there are such a small amount of anarchists in ukraine do you think their presence in the army actually makes a difference in the war? every government views its soldiers as disposable bags of meat, i refuse to view my comrades lives in the same way. as an anarchist why risk your life fighting to preserve another state? why risk your life fighting for something so opposed to anarchy?

You are saying that our comrades in Ukraine are fighting for ukrainian state. And although some of them do speak in favor of ukrainian state in comparison to russian state most of anarchists in Ukraine recorded a lot of videos/written texts about what they are fighting for. And speaking in such a manner about goals of comrades is at least disrespectful. In the same manner we can start saying that any social struggle in the west is done to maintain privileges of the first world against any other region and even grow the benefits of the rich workers, while the rest of the world continues to suffer. However this would be nonsense, as the goals of the struggle are defined by those who fight, and not those who sit in far away land trying to understand political systems via couple of texts online and posts in social medias.

And we believe that it is not up to us to decide how much impact anarchists will make in the army at the current state.

The goals of a state army hierarchy are defined by the hierarchy not the grunts. It may be true that some anarchists in the Ukrainian army may still have their own ultimate goal of anarchy, to be achieved by working through the state. This seems more like marxism than anarchism to me, but people can call their own ideologies whatever they want, no one can stop them, not even the most powerful armies on earth.

You might want to research the history of the West though. Too long didn't read of it is that Europe invaded North America, similar in one way but worse in another to the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Russia also invaded North America and sold stolen land to the United States).

A lot of Ukrainians ended up colonizing and settling Native land claimed by Canada, which is one, but only one reason why the Canadian state now talks and acts exactly like an anarchist by raging against Russian authoritarianism and by training Ukrainian soldiers and cops and supplying military equipment.

So in this case it was Ukrainian settlers who were the privileged First Worlders fighting to maintain their privileges over the Fourth World peoples whose territory they occupied. Kind of reminds one of how the truth that Jewish people were oppressed by the Nazis and Europe doesn't mean the State of Israel can't be oppressive to Palestinians.

Hopefully at some point Euro/Americans act in solidarity with the oppressed peoples of the earth instead of as uniformed order-following or vigilante parasites who don't even know how to look after their own interests, the only thing they currently care about.

This pro-war, pro-Western imperialist garbage. Anarchism today.....

You can clearly see the black and red in that logo... that's because it's our usual suspects, i.e. the mindfucked liberal ancoms.

So anarchist-communists who advocate the total overthrow of capitalism, the state, and all forms of oppression are "mind-fucked liberal ancoms"? This makes sense to you?

Only the person who doesn't understand how "WAR" works would call this pro-war. If Russia achieves at least one of it's goals (like it did in other wars in was part of last 20 years) in Ukraine it will continue marching through the region in glorious restoration of it's empire. But don't worry you brave internet warrior of the western front. Russian state might have no ambitions for anything west from Poland.

How do you figure that RF, which is straining hard after two years to accomplish its goals in Ukraine, is going to simply go on and go to war with NATO? I’m genuinely curious where people get this idea because it seems completely devoid of reality. It seems based instead on a western propaganda caricature of an unstoppable, supernaturally powerful “evil empire” that was never true even at the height of the Cold War. How are they going to go to war with 30 countries at once, including several of the worlds richest, when they can’t even decisively beat one of the poorest states in Europe? Like use your brain for two seconds and realize this talking point makes no fucking sense. It is pure hysteria and sounds like what western politicians and media say.

"I’m genuinely curious where people get this idea..."

Straight from some West European military top brass, who've been crying wolf about a pending Russian invasion of Europe despite the absurdity of the idea... just to ramp up the arms industry and its investments.

And this paranoid propaganda did work, resulting with Rheinmetall opening a major arms production complex in Ukraine.

Funny how such blatant NATO war-mongering is being allowed to be distributed in Euro anarchist circles.

Or as UkWayne likes to repeat a lot, the idea that RF wants to take over all of UA, is almost equally crazy. The areas it has seized are relatively pro-Russian or at least have large Russophone populations. Trying to occupy the entire country seems like it would be a very long and pointless war with a mostly hostile population.

It isn’t necessary to “support” a given political side to recognize that the propaganda about them is crazy, just like it’s only idiots who believe Hezbollah is invading Texas. See also the kind of anarchists and leftists who made a common front with liberals under trump because he was a “fascist,” even though biden has been worse in a lot of ways and those same libs don’t care.

This is ridiculous Western propaganda and nobody should take this seriously.

Have Germans been demonstrating about Palestine or not really?

Some, but as well as facing heightened state repression compared to others, they also face heightened hostility from large sections of German leftists & anarchists due to widespread social support for Israeli colonialism. A recent large demonstration against a far-right party pushed out (physically) people supporting Palestine, for example. The leftist organization Samidoun was banned at the very beginning of the war, & a pro-Palestine statement by the squat Rigaer94 was apparently extremely controversial within its milieu.

The pressure of negotiating ending the of war with putin's regime comes from different states own geopolitical intrests. its not an antiwar stance, but merely economical or political decision taken by different ellites, at times supported by local population who is economically affected or believes they will not be affected by the war part of russian invasion itself. even if it was a voice of the people who want peace on earth, this is the wrong address to ask it here. try russia.

don't let it be so easy for you to think that by supporting comrades fighting russian aggression we are all so happy to hang out with fascists and support our states nationalists agendas, that we love NATO and EU? that we don't see this as imperialist game on either side? we do. do you think we don't understand that unwillingly we are helping heir agendas? we do. this is reality of eastern europe and the differnece between our positions with the west. you don't share our history and don't want to learn our points of view based on the lessons we took from it. we will need to face our contradictions ourselves. we will need to make the best out of this situation, alone like we'd always had, because that war is affecting the whole region, entrenching nationalist discourses and helping them thrive. compromises are being made because of lack of a better option. it is our future we are talking about here. all the choices we make will have consequences for us in the whole region. and for the moment there are no good pure anarchist solutions here, there is an invasion that noone asked for and people need to deal with. if there was an option to keep putins regime out of the occupied territory, people would choose to do so. noone wants to die.

to stop this war is a question to russian comrades and the russian society, and we should do everything we can to look for ways to support their struggle, for its possible only from that side of the frontline. ask comrades there how easy it is to act under putin's regime... this war came unwanted and people don't fight it because they love their ellites, they fight it because they have to, if they dont want to wake up in a totalitarian nightmare. it will not go away with wishful thinking and detached from reality antimilitarist stands. we chose to support our comrades, because we need to defend what is left of freedom in this region. its not the healthiest starting point, but its the reality. it will take double or triple the effort to turn this situation into more favorable circumstances towards anarchist ideas, and this is what we should be focused on. not to try to dissuade comrades from defending their land, but to see practically what can be done to use this crisis to promote self-organization, how to help local population gain trust in anarchist ideas and values, build alternatives. it will definetely not magically happen if all antiauthoritarians now quit involvement in the defense efforts or leave the country. the work must be done in all the fields of life, there is constant lack of people. its the reality of this region. its a hard position to come out with a good revolutionary plan, when bombs are falling on your head and good visionary comrades around you die. maybe easier if you get some support. I am not saying that there is no place for criticisms. we need to be open to it in order to develop, but we need to feel we are being heard and counted with. its hard not to get bitter when listening to some of your voices. to understand choices of anarchist comrades from the region, you would need to want to listen. to understand east-europeans you also need to understand relationships between peoples of the east and west. we are colonized people, stuck between superpowers, often lacking self confidence, hence we engage in this stupid discussions with westerners. historically we were programmed to try convience the westerner of our value, then we can see value in ourselves, or at least maybe get some scraps.

"we will need to face our contradictions ourselves. we will need to make the best out of this situation, alone like we'd always had,"

you mean Ukraine is going to stop accepting billions of dollars worth of western states' military equipment? don't see how it's been going it alone since let's say 2015

If Ukrainian government would stop accepting military aid, it would be the end of the Ukrainian people. We will not advocate for Ukrainian state to do that. We will not advocate any other state to stop sending arms, not because they are our friends, but because we see it as the necessity right now, however nauseating state supporting this might seem. If we dont want ukraine to be swallowed by a stronger fascist state of russia, that's what we need to do. It doesn't mean that people who support this fight, support that or other state in general. When I say that we are alone - it means that we east Europeans feel this way, because you western anarchist friends don't stand with us when the fascist Russian state is coming after what they believe is theirs. and they will not stop until they take it, they will not stop on Ukraine only. Historically the big geopolitical powers always played their games at expense of smaller, weaker populations. It is called colonization and takes different forms. It comes from both east and west.

NATO is same kind of friend to anarchists of Ukraine as USA is to the administration of north and east Syria. Its temporarily guaranteeing its physical existance but that's it. Of course it does that out of own interests. Its an tactical alliance in opposition to strategical one. Of course Ukrainian anarchists are much weaker actors than administration of NES is, and they would need to develop strength to be reckoned with in order to further anarchist ideas in the region. But to do that, they need to be there physically and to be there physically Russian aggresion must be stopped, and to stop it, you need arms. I would risk to say that Ukrainian society will not trust political force that is not there to defend it against the invader, so in order to stay in the region, to be able to have a say about its future, anarchists must have a presence on the battlefields. I would also say that the presence on the battlefields are not enough and there should be more involvement in the field, where the state is weakest and there exist opportunities to support self organization of the population. Some people are doing that already.

The path that we must walk is not straight, in circumstances like a war, and we need to choose our steps carefully, but we must also act. We are forced to take uneasy alliances, then we must evaluate, analyze and take another step. We need to draw some lines as well. Not everything is acceptable.

Its really not of much help having to always go back to square one and explain why you don't want the fascist state of Russia ruling over your region.

Also, to be openly anti authoritarian in conditions of war, without the strength behind it is risky business, as there are many enemies to those ideas, some better organized with influential friends. So i strongly encourage to contribute to that strength. What you can do from the outside, is to support these comrades efforts, try to understand their choices, support those who fight and those who run. If you have a point to pass, it will be more effective if you appear as a person who cares about wellbeing of comrades that are risking their lives under artillery fire for the sake of the same revolutionary future, but who are stuck in difficult place.

Well, I don't want the US fascist state to rule over "my" region. Or the Polish fascist state. Or the Turkish fascist state. Etc.

So the issue with you here is that just because Mussolini tries to invade Greece, we can all of a sudden forget the fact that Greece is run by the fascist regime of Metaxas, that we "must" be fighting in league with.

As if fascists can't be fighting each other... yet it's all over history.

I don't want no government to rule over my region either. You cannot just simplify reality with calling anyone fascist who doesn't fit to your purist vision.

So if there was an outside force invading Poland, a regime that wanted to eradicate its language and people, seeing them as lesser category or non-existent, you would not support people defending their land, because the polish state is 'fascist'? Would that not mean that by this 'antyfascist' stance, you are actually supporting the aggressor? And the whole population is just thrown in a bag with its government, to be disposed of? Because inevitably all polish people that don't want to be eradicated by outside aggressor must be fascist.

Good luck with changing the world. Only very simple one can be addressed like this. Or one that is very far away. Then all those statements make sense, cos you have nothing to lose, but time on computer..

As a matter of fact we are against all empires and we support different struggles against US and turkey as well.

"So if there was an outside force invading Poland, a regime that wanted to eradicate its language and people, seeing them as lesser category or non-existent, you would not support people defending their land, because the polish state is 'fascist'?"

No, it's because WHY should I support people defending their land, their language, culture, Nation, etc? Tell me why we "must" or "should", as anarchists... who want an anarchy. Because we're anarchists, not coz we're "purists", you fool.

Why should we waste more time on a national defense struggle, more than commenting on the internet? I'm fine with that, thank you.

"Because inevitably all polish people that don't want to be eradicated by outside aggressor must be fascist."

No, dimwit. Because there's shitloads of fascists in Poland, especially in charge of the government, and it's also a very White conservative society even compared to its neighbors.

"Good luck with changing the world. "

Fucking christ, where've you been? Anarchists don't wanna change the world... read some actual anarchist texts and quit drinking the CIA Kool Aid.

Just curious... how do you care about people getting evicted of their apartments in the winter, as the homeless are left to die in the cold? Well you SHOULD! These could be better recruits for your Territorial Defense Units than those online anarchist intellectuals who keep being traitors to the Nation!

"Fucking christ, where've you been? Anarchists [mostly in the US, of a certain denomination] don't wanna change the world... read some actual anarchist texts [that reflect my biases] and quit drinking the CIA Kool Aid. *citation needed* "

FTFY

Okay you wanna change the world, Lumpy? Go for it. And don't waste too long on this comment section as such ambitious (and disproportionate, and superhuman) project sure demand a lot of time and energies from you.

But I'd like to hear anyone telling me what in anarchy or even anarchism implies that every anarchist is supposed to be wanting to change the world.

Also neech it up brow.

i don't "want to" anything anonbro, i've been changing the shit steadily, the whole time you've been sitting there with that snarky look on your face

break large problems in to smaller pieces or go to the bathroom mirror and admit things to yourself, k? ;)

“Eradicate”? I have commented elsewhere, it’s not necessary to support the RF (or any state or movement or etc) to recognize when hysterical claims are being made against them for the sake of propaganda. If you want to see what a real war of “eradication” looks like, look at Gaza. The civilian death toll there is equal or higher than a full decade of war in Ukraine, and out of a population twenty times smaller. I knew when this shit kicked off in ‘22 it was only a matter of time before the “moral, democratic” West was doing something even worse yet again.

No one should buy into the hysterical idea that Russia is on the verge of occupying half of Europe and killing everyone there. They’re barely hanging on to their stated goal of occupying the Russian speaking areas of Ukraine. This propaganda is fuel for the arms industry and for domestic repression throughout the noble , freedom-loving, imperialist and genocidal West.

respectfully, two armies of conscripts grinding hundreds of lives to death on either side every day--what is the sense in trying to preserve that status quo? i supported ukrainians' efforts to prevent outright conquest early on, largely due to what i was hearing from anarchists there at the time, but the possibility of outright conquest evaporated within months if not weeks. the war will end with some kind of political settlement, and unless ukraine is able to fundamentally change the material disparity between itself and russia that settlement will surely involve the loss of some territory. my question for you is, what is the average ukrainian at the frontline fighting for at this point? freedom from rule by russian fascism, or for the relative "territorial integrity" of ukraine? or the ability of the ukrainian state to join NATO? or the ability of the ukrainian state to control and exploit access to its eastern industries and ports etc., free from russian interference? or all of the above? does anything of that have anything to do with the relative freedom or capacity to act of ukrainians themselves? if it is all a gamble of "blood and treasure," as the american ghouls and your benefactors say, to attempt to stymie any future capacity of the russian state to go back to war and take it all, you will be stuck in that casino forever i think.

it's true that i'm not there and i'm not willing to be there. but i think the ukrainian government has long since passed the point of fighting to prevent direct administration by russia. if you ask me, i think the ukrainian and russian people have both been betrayed, and are being used and spent for the sake of marginal changes in whatever the final settlement ends up being. agitating against a ceasefire seems insane to me--as does the idea that the ukrainian people would not see how they've been used and take that opportunity to rip apart their fascist "comrades" and state and reorganize their civil defense along lines that prioritize their own lives and not capital. but given that everything i think is apparently insane, what is the reasonable exit strategy here? or is it just war, forever, at one intensity or the other?

I think those are valid questions. I would only see the problem that we are still focusing on what friends in Ukraine should or not do, noone here really asks how to stop that madness from within Russia. There are Russian comrades that share this perspectives, sabotage from within Russia and fight and die on Ukrainian side. But we need strategies that would help engage population, that would dismantle that terror machine from inside. In the same time all the other centers of empires must fall. Then we can realistically stop this madness. We need a kind of supportive internationalism that can push the scale away from rising fascisms and nationalisms.

About people being used and betrayed by both states. Those situations surely take place. No doubt. The road is long and bumpy if comrades there are to reach the abovementioned point where they could have a final say in how to organize their defense and to be truly independent. It would be amazing to arrive at this point, but comrades are not there yet and not for the lack of trying.

But I don't agree that the changes on the front lines are marginal. They might seem like that now, but once the arms stop flowing, there will be a disaster. There is also no trust in aggressor side to stop at any point regardless of what ceasefire talks could look like. Why should there be?. If they'd stop, they'd regroup and hit again, surely. Also ceding defacto conquered territory would have disastrous consequences for the region. Only Russia losing can open window of opportunity into more freedom in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine or Kazakhstan. Plus people that were forced to leave will never agree to that. It will simply not happen. I agree that if Russia stays, the region will just continue bleeding. Most likely there will be no winners here, but if there is a chance of Russia losing, this will be big in consequences. For that ukrainians need to keep fighting and movements in Russia have to move more forward.

i sympathize with the kinds of dilemma you describe, and as an american i of course can't really imagine what it would be like to face an invasion by any other state, much less a significantly more powerful one. i can see how in a situation where there is no good option, or at least no popular will to pursue any good options, politically engaged people might decide that it's necessary to turn to realpolitik of one kind or another, to at least try for an improved political situation within that context. that is why i broadly supported the ukrainian side despite my reservations about its composition early on, and it's why i support the "axis of resistance" in the levant. however, the questions that should be asked in any such case are still such as: what is to be gained by this? what are the conditions for an achievable victory? are the interests of the leadership, and especially the interests of the most energetic and effective actors on the ground, consistent with those conditions?

again, my position is that the ukrainian people are losing on all those counts. i am open to hearing how they might not be, but the grand concerns of regional consequences of russian expansion and influence over the states you mention does not seem to me to be meaningfully on the table. if anything, had the war ended when their first push ended so pitifully and they were pushed back into a defensive posture, it may have at least made them look like a paper tiger. now they seem perfectly happy to pump an endless river of conscripts and especially prison conscripts into the front, a deeper river than ukraine has by any account i've read, and are even advancing. as with any other industry the weapons, the tools, are only as good as there are reliable hands to use them, and from what i understand the ukrainian state is now struggling to find men to conscript, beginning to train women and so on. what is the plan to reverse all of that? do you trust that the leadership actually has one? what would be different if the war ended in a year vs tomorrow vs a year ago? might not a lot of this come down to the problem that the ukrainian state has staked itself to a conventional war, vs one that could have been won, politically?

the reason i'm focusing on ukraine is partly because this comment section is in response to a call for anarchists to protest a ceasefire. of course i agree if we are trading fantasies that an international insurrection or whatever that brought down or otherwise disabled at least the bigger imperial powers would be ideal. and on a smaller scale i agree that the russian people could overthrow putin and stop the war, which is at least more likely than that the israeli people would do the same. but in the meantime, as long as the question is what to do in the absence of that kind of popular will, or effectively what to do as individuals despite being anarchists, even to the point of volunteering for an army of conscripts and fascists and NATO spooks etc etc, i think the strategic picture should be a lot clearer than the one i've seen from the proponents of war in ukraine.

personally, as ive said elsewhere, i think its better not to participate in this kind of thing. but i'm not there, and i try to remain open to the experiences and perspectives of people who are.

Seems like the cause of the Ukrainian army soldiers with anarchist aesthetics has most of the significant western anarchist ideological support that could be hoped for: CrimethInc, Submedia, Freedom, ABC Dresden, etc. If you have Crimethinc lying on your behalf about western anarchist anti-militarists, seems like you're the one in better hands than the anti-militarists.

Putting aside for the moment the relatively much more massive western state support (both ideological and military) they get, it doesn't seem remotely true that anarchists in Ukraine are totally going it alone, as they supposedly always have.

In some cases, they even seem to get more support than Indigenous and non-white anarchists in various other parts of the world do, despite those anarchists usually not being soldiers in state armies and not having the support of powerful western states.

You don't really have to go back to square one, with me at least, to explain why people in eastern european countries wouldn't want any given invading state (fascist or otherwise) ruling over your region, since there are multiple settler states ruling over the region I live in, and all are the result of invasion, including the invasion of the Russian state and its later transaction with the American state over Alaska, land neither of the states owned.

If Russia was supporting Indigenous resistance to the invasive colonial states of North America, I seriously doubt you and the Ukrainian army anarchists would put aside your opposition to Russia in solidarity with us, out of respect for our necessities in our war for liberation, in part since you already don't support our struggle against North American states' militarism and imperialism here and abroad.

If arms and equipment supplying from colonizer countries like Canada, US, Denmark and Israel to the Ukrainian state is the number one global necessity in anarchist anti-imperialism, this means the struggle against Israeli and Canadian etc. colonialism is secondary, some peoples in some parts of the world should be sacrificed for others, just as Ukrainian state officials who don't actually fight on the front line themselves sacrifice the conscripts and enlistees who do.

Just as the most basic anarchist principles of opposition to the State, the unity of means and ends, and non-collaboration with the enemy (the State) is put aside by the pro-war-effort anarchists, replaced by the more marxist of method, where the State can supposedly be *used* temporarily to advance the supposed ultimate goal of statelessness, while in practice it is the State that ends up using you, in this case as canon fodder, over states' borders being so many degrees east or west.

The real problem of the pro-war-effort anarchists doesn't seem to be that they're going it alone, but that a single anarchist maintains any clarity whatsoever on the nature and practice of the State, its imperialism, colonialism and militarism. The problem for them seems to be simply that there are any anarchists saying or doing anything anti-militarist, maintaining any consistency with historical anarchists on the question.

There's a difference between understanding an individual's choice to join the army under limited options and supporting a collective effort by multiple anarchists to rebrand anarchism itself to include and exalt group enlistment and ideological propaganda work in support of the state war effort.
