The Quiet Coyote Cash Out: Support PNW Anarchist Grand Jury Resistors

<table><tr><td>In light of the recent subpoenas issued in the Pacific Northwest, we, The Quiet Coyote Cash Out, are extending support and standing behind our comrades who are facing the recent trouble brought on by the FBI. The Quiet Coyote Cash Out will be pooling money for our comrades by means of donations and benefits. These funds will be separate from legal support and commissary (which is still important and necessary), The purpose of this fund is for the aftermath of those who remain non-cooperating and who serve time for doing so.

On August 2nd, comrades faced a grand jury and refused to feed into the investigation that is taking place by those who ultimately seek to imprison our friends and loved ones. Subpoenas have now been issued for a later date and we expect this is far from over. For as long as those subpoenaed are resisting, a judge can hold them in contempt for a maximum of 18 months, or until the grand jury completes its term, whichever comes first. During this grand jury, jail time will be expected for friends which will cause stress and separation from those they love. Time that cannot be replaced will be taken from them. Plans, goals, and responsibilities will be put off. With this in mind, we recognize that we have the ability to decrease the tailspin for our friends and support them through these moments.</td><td><img title="support = attack with $" src="http://anarchistnews.org/files/pictures/2012/coyote.jpg"></td></tr></tab...

This money will be directly placed into the hands of our comrades —those who do not cooperate— when they are released from jail. The money is to be used for anything that they please. Although money will never truly compensate them for the time they will likely lose, we want to show them that we recognize that their incarceration is a consequence of their strength and will. We see their refusal to play jester in the house of Justice as a beautiful refusal. In this scenario, silence is a testament to their power. We can only hope that the money we raise helps alleviate the inherent stress and worry that being forcibly isolated brings, making the transition from a cell to the open air a bit easier.

I raise you a loud wolf to your quiet coyote.

I'm sure they could definitely use the money to replace their stolen phones, computers, etc.

They will receive the money when they are released from jail? No one is in jail.

We're all in jail, man.

If they are held in contempt they will be.

much <3 from the PNW

Oh so you pay them at the end if they don't talk? Like a reward for keeping quiet. Cool.

But how can we trust you'll honestly collect and hold and deliver the money in the end?

Good point, how do we know these folks are legit?

Are they members of the Anarchist Better Bail donation Bureau?

This is the plot of this season of Breaking Bad.

If the promise of money is what is keeping anarchists from talking to police or feds, then street cred has seriously been thrown out the window for northwest anarchists who were pretty much setting the standard in the US.

I don't think it's fair to equate "the promise of money is one thing keeping anarchists from snitching" to "the promise of money is THE one thing keeping anarchists from snitching".

What the fuck are you talking about? Of course this isn't what is keeping anyone from talking to police or feds.

Prison is going to (temporarily) wreck these lives, even if they will only be in prison for the life of the grand jury. They will need some help getting back on their feet, and that is what these monies being solicited are for. This is what material solidarity looks like. Petty vandalism is one thing, but there are real considerations of the targets of state repression that need to be met.

If, because this is one less thing for these people to worry about, this helps the subpoenaed stand firm in not cooperating, that's a benefit, too, but surely not the primary aim.

Keep assassinating judges, murdering police, calling in bomb threats to federal buildings, smashing stuff, dropping banners, demonstrating, calling in etc. but also give or facilitate giving through fundraisers, etc.

We are in a climate of increased repression and yet bailable anarchist prisoners are languishing behind bars. There are still NATO demonstrators (that are not charged with terrorism) in jail!

This is highly problematic not only for the individuals being held and beaten in county but also because it signals that those that would be accused of assaulting police or rioting are not given the support they need.

Last paragraph should read: This is highly problematic not only for the individuals being held and beaten in county but also because it signals that those that would be accused of assaulting police or rioting will not be given the support they need.

"Keep assassinating judges, murdering police, calling in bomb threats to federal buildings, smashing stuff, dropping banners, demonstrating, calling in etc. but also give or facilitate giving through fundraisers, etc."

wudupjedgar? this going in yer report 2?

Pooling money and coordinating online sounds like the slippery slope to Galts Gulch anarcho-capitalism comrades. ' Assassination Politics' author was from Cascadia!

Better get a ruling from Wayne Price and some Situationist in France.

this project is saying that we dont give our comrades money not to snitch, but that we give our comrades money BECAUSE they are not snitching.

material support, breh.

keep it trill anon.

I think this is a great idea and would love to help comrades get some money for when they get out of their expected jail terms, but I'm a little confused as to what the money/legal situation is going on there. Why is this being talked about now when no one is in jail yet? I would expect that there would be an attempt to gather money for legal expenses. So far I haven't seen or heard of anyone asking for money to pay lawyers or anything like that. Has everyone secured pro-bono representation? If so, is everyone happy with that representation and feel good about it?

I'm just trying to figure out if lack of legal funds is an issue given that this is the only thing I've seen so far asking for donations and it's specifically for post-jail support in the future.

pretty sure you don't get a lawyer in a grand jury, and folks are presuming that anarchists won't talk to grand juries, which means you WILL be found in contempt of court, and held in jail until you either talk, or they decide that you will never talk.

The lawyer can't come into the room with you but they can wait outside the gj room and give advice between questions, represent you at your contempt hearing, try to make other arguments for your release once you're incarcerated... and just generally it's nice to have a lawyer so you don't feel like there is absolutely nothing being done to try to secure you're release.

So I think it is pretty important to be raising money for legal support at this point. But in the end it's up to the subpeanuts what they want to use fundraised money for, and how much emphasis they want to put on their legal defense efforts. Is this coyote thing being put on by them or at their request? We are doing fundraising here in MPLS (a bike raffle!) and will probably just take direction from the subpeanuts about where to put the money.

You can always email them with that question.

Right--I plan on doing that because I have their e-mail address but I think for those folks out there who want to do support and aren't as connected it would be good if that was clearer in the announcement. Not trash talkin' or assuming anything, just sayin'.
