From Burmese Anarchism
Thwe Thwe Tin Saw - anarchist fugitive, single mother, needs money for food & rent
She says, “I don't like any government. I hate police, soldiers, capitalism, fascism and racism. I have never understood why people are discriminated against. I think everyone should have freedom. It is a human right.
Anarchism is a political philosophy that is against all forms of authority and seeks to abolish the institutions that use coercion and hierarchy, including the state and capitalism. Myanmar anarchists want peace and justice: No fucking Gods, No fucking Masters
In Myanmar I like these punk bands: Rebel Riot, Kulture Shock, Death By Systems. Worldwild my favorite punk bands are The Sex Pistols, Ramones, G.B.H
I participated in the Food Not Bombs movement in Yangon and human rights events. My husband died of Covid. Right now, I am in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to flee the conscription law. I am disgusted that people are still being killed by the military.
In Thailand, the police are very cruel with Burmese refugees like me - they extort money. If they don't like us, they hand us over to the Myanmar army.
I will spend any money donated to me to feed myself and my child, and to pay for housing.”

Ye Yint Thit Lwin - anarchist fugitive needs $ for food & rent
He says, “In my opinion, governments and authorities are really just people manipulating other people's lives for their own benefit There is no justice . For example, if you are an ordinary citizen and you are facing a trial in Myanmar - if the the person you have a problem with is a government employee, the judge will favor the government employee.
Also, I believe people living in the world should have the right to go anywhere in the world. But we can't. Countries, flags, laws, visas, borders, etc., restrict people's personal freedom, and I hate them so much.
To me, anarchism is self-initiated revolution. Anarchists in Burma want Burma to end its radical orthodoxy, various divisions, and wars as soon as possible.
My favorite punk bands are Discharge, Amebix, Disclose, Disfear, Wolfbrigade, Kontrasosial, Doom, Languid. My favorite community is Crass.

Pan Pan - anarchist refugee needs $ for food and rent
He says, “I am from Yangon but I am currently a refugee in Mae Sot (Thailand). I was born into a Buddhist society. For me, there is no God, only social justice. Religious people in the Myanmar clerical class have been swayed by corrupt, power hungry, hate mongering politicians. I believe that instead of donating money to build Buddha statues with gold, it’s more important to feed refugees and homeless people.
I was a volunteer organizer for Food Not Bomb Yangon movement and I took part in the revolution against the military junta after the coup d'état. I relocated to Mae Sot (Thailand) following the military's announcement of the conscription law.
I’m currently trying to organize a “Books not Bombs” movement in the refugee camps near Thai-Myanmar border to help children in the refugee camps gain access to proper education.
I will spend the $ on rent, food, and utilities.”

Myo Thet Khine - anarchist ex-prisoner needs $ to go to liberated area and help refugees
He says, “I am from Yangon, Myanmar, but currently I live in Thailand. I am 21 years old.
I participated in the Food not Bombs movement in Yangon. After the military coup, I went to the jungle to fight back against the military. When I came back to the city I was arrested by the military. After I was released, I joined the rebel movement again, and organized activities in Yangon.
Recently, the military announced every young person in Myanmar must serve in the military. I ran out of my country to Chiang Mai, Thailand to participate in Food not Bombs - Chiang Mai.
Right now I am planning to go to a recently liberated area in Myanmar to help refugees. I will use the funding as the capital to cover my expenses on my way there.”

Kaung Si Thu - anarchist fugitive needs $ for food and housing costs.
He says, “Anarchist writers I like are Bakunin, Peter Kropotkin, Proudhon, Emma Goldman and Max Stirner is perhaps my favorite. His book, The Ego and It's Own, has changed my views a lot. Punk bands I like include Sex Pistols, Crass, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Discharge, Bad Religion, and punk bands in Myanmar. For me, Anarchism means autonomy, self-discipline, self responsibility, consciousness and rationalism. I might soon be translating articles on anarchism.
I took part in the strike at Yangon West University, aware that our grievances would not be heard. I participated by throwing Molotov cocktails during protests. Authorities responded with rubber bullets, smoke bombs, and live ammunition. Arrests and imprisonments ensued. I sought refuge in North Shan state where I remain. The duration of this revolution will likely be protracted.”

Ruth Pa - ex-prisoner & victim of torture needs $ for PTSD & mental health medication
She says, “I am 24 years old. I am of Chin ethnicity (a minority group in Myanmar).
During the 2021 coup d'état, I participated in protests alongside the Chin people in Yangon. While supporting these movements, I had to live in hiding. In July 2022, the coup forces captured me. As a woman and a member of a non-Burman ethnic group, I endured severe torture in the prison interrogation center, including repeated beatings, head injuries, and sexual abuse. I was released from prison in December 2023, but I could no longer live safely in Myanmar. With the help of some friends, I escaped to Mae Sot, Thailand.
Given the trauma I experienced in prison, I am currently undergoing PTSD and mental health treatment and regularly consult with mental health specialists. Additionally, I have congenital heart disease. I am presently unemployed, facing financial difficulties, and living with friends.
I will be using your assistance to cover my medical expenses and general living costs.”

HMrd (above) - anarchist fugitive/refugee - needs $ for food, rent, work permit
He says: "To me, anarchism embodies the principles of collective action, syndicalism, mutualism, and mutual aid. Throughout history, humans have thrived by supporting one another, long before the establishment of governments and monarchies. In fact, these institutions are akin to paying with our own blood for the knife that will ultimately cut our necks. Our history demonstrates that human existence does not require a system of government. My favorite anarchists, who have deeply influenced my views, include Max Stirner, Peter Kropotkin, Emma Goldman, Bakunin, and Proudhon.
After the 2021 coup, I joined All Burma Federation of Student Unions (ABFSU), in demonstrations in Yangon. I also joined “For The Hood For The People” - an anarchist group in Hlaingtharyar township that helps marginalized communities with free food distribution - and I joined Food Not Bombs Myanmar. In February 2024, when the Burmese military began enforcing the conscription law, I fled to Thailand.”
