The Joy of Alex Comfort: A Review of Eric Laursen’s Polymath
by Wayne Price
Original title: The Joy of Alex Comfort: A Review of Eric Laursen’s Polymath; the Life and Professions of Dr. Alex Comfort Author of The Joy of Sex.
Alex Comfort (1920—2000) is best remembered as the author of the bestselling The Joy of Sex. Not as many recall him as an anarchist and pacifist, who was also a significant poet and novelist, a medical doctor, an authority on mollusks, a founding figure in gerontology (the study of aging) as well as sexology, and a writer on humanistic views of religion.

Blue flashing lights pass by, oblivious to our collective trespass. A hole in the fence, hotties passing through, passing into each other. A new world cums into being, a rupture on the leisure pastures of the rich. Cruising utopia, at least for a night. Queers writhing over each other, defiling one another. Sweet melodies accompany soft caresses, the sound of piss gurgling beside a couple kissing. Determined fuckers splayed out on tarps. The line between criminality and sensuality? Sorry she's not in tonight.

Poly and Other Relationships, on Immediatism
Immediatism has been looking at relationships and how anarchist views, and ways of talking about relationships, have changed over time. This was done by reading all of the following pieces in chronological order, followed by a piece translated by Seaweed as an encore. Here, you have Emma Goldman and Voltairine de Cleyre to compare with Clemence x Clementine and Andie Nordgren.
Consent
In recent years, I have been disappointed to see many anarchists take a categorically anti-nudity position with respect to a very broad variety of situations and settings. This has often been as an extension of their “sexual politics” – an imperfect term, to be sure, but which I mean the sum of their ideas about sexuality, which are often (not always) received ideas, i.e. dogma or ideology.
God is dead
...what struck me as wild on rereading Jakucho-san’s book was the staggering sense of passion and speed with which she moves from sex with Shusui to the plot to blow up the emperor. I could die right now, I’m doing this knowing I’ll die. That passion swells and explodes, leaving reason aside and connecting directly to terrorism. Of course, love and revolution are different things. But this book doesn’t let the reader feel that. Love makes people into bombs.
Sex work: A guide for activism
From Freedom New UK
Anarchists through history have often been at the margins of society, associated with criminality and other unacceptable categories. So, it should be no surprise to know some anarchists are also sex workers, or have been close to sex workers. We fought Mussolini and Franco, we continue fighting today.

The struggle against fascism begins with the struggle against toxic masculinity
Have you ever wondered how to talk dirty without reinforcing the patriarchy? Or what all the fuss is about polyamory? These are just two of the many topics tackled by the Anarcho Agony Aunts (AAA), an anarcha-feminist duo offering anonymous sex and relationship advice via their YouTube channel.
