From Abolition Media - Italy, Spain

The Italian authorities are continuing judicial repression against anarchist militant Gabriel Pombo da Silva, who was sentenced to two years in prison for “incitement to crime” as part of Operation Scripta Manent, despite the recognition by the Spanish state that he has already served 2 years and 8 months of excess detention.

The body and the politics of standing in the street

From Anarchism Perspective

States love one thing: to make us invisible. Each of us separately, in separate houses, with separate pains until we imagine that we are “alone,” that we imagine that we are “insufficient,” that we think that “there is no one like me.” This is precisely what the oppressor feeds on: to make each body a case, each case a fear, and each fear a daily obedience.

Iran: Monarchists and the Attempt to Tame the Unleashed Fire

From Anarchist Front (telegram)

This movement is radical because it is rooted in the complete negation of any imposed authority; it rejects not only the Islamic regime but also every form of hierarchical domination. There is no savior here, no crown, no Supreme Leader or prince to come from the outside and set the direction. Real power is in the bare hands of women, youth, workers, and the marginalized, who have risen up against all structures of oppression without intermediaries, without a pre-written program. But it is this uncompromising radicalism that frightens some. The monarchists, these wandering ghosts of the past, have entered the fray with their old tricks to harness this unbridled fire for their own benefit.

December 2025 Bulletin of the Kate Sharpley Library

From Kate Sharpley Library

The Kate Sharpley Library aims to preserve what anarchists have written (published or not) as an essential way to understand the ideas and history of the movement. To the best of our ability we try to make those things available, which leads into publishing. Which may be less librarianly, but has always has always been a concern of the KSL.

Iran: Reports from the Last 5 Days of Nationwide Protests

From Anarchist Perspective

The fact that the uprising has lasted more than eleven days is itself a sign of a fundamental change. In previous uprisings, the regime was able to break the tide with rapid and focused repression, but this time the geographical dispersion and tactical diversity (from strikes to direct clashes) have not allowed for full control. With each passing day, the cost of repression for the regime is becoming heavier; not only in human terms, but also in terms of legitimacy and internal cohesion.

Soccer for Social Good

From Fifth Estate # 417, Winter 2025

A review of Beyond the Final Whistle, Soccer for a Better World by Vasilis Kostakis. Pluto Press, 2025

On a hot night in Houston Texas, two teams played during a social and political moment that carried more meaning than just the end result of the match. The significance was shown by supporters’ shirts depicting half split Mexican and American flags worn by those in attendance.

Iran: On the rupture between a part of society and leftist forces in a revolutionary moment

From Anarchist Front
January 5, 2026

The turning of a part of society towards the forces known as the “left” or “pluralist forces” cannot be reduced simply to the media success of rival currents, including the Pahlavis. Although these forces have been able to effectively exploit existing gaps, these gaps were already formed in the social context and in the relationship between a part of the left and the lifeworld of society. The main problem is not simply a failure in the field of narrative, but a crisis of social and linguistic connection.

Volcano Group: shutting down fossil-fuel power plants is DIY. Have courage!

translator's note: this communique (originally posted at https://de.indymedia.org/node/565575) uses a couple of phrases that need explanation. The first is "Handarbeit" which I have translated as "DIY." In this case, the phrase handarbeit (work done by hand) has a special meaning among autonomists etc, as in the phrase "Antifa Bleibt Handarbeit" -- Antifa remains done by hand-- meaning both that you need to do it yourself, it can't be done FOR you, and also that you must literally use your hands to do it.
