Yep, I've read that Abbey rant. It's worth noting though that at no point does he say 'Third World peoples should be permitted to starve to death', nor anything about '“our” ecological resources'. That's just invention and slur typical of a man like Bookchin; a man who spent most of his life as a useful idiot for the USSR - a regime that didn't just 'permit' people to starve to death, but actively made sure that they did by the millions.

While we're on the subject of Abbey, does one shitty essay really mean that he can't call himself an anarchist if that's the word he feels best describes him? Does that essay mean that his other work, inc. the magnificent 'Desert Solitaire', isn't anarchist?
