I'm still a sucker for crimethinc's purple prose and enjoyed this read but like, even still, you see the 90s fallacies shining through.

Like the whole "WHY DIDNT THE CROWD SURGE THROUGH THE FENCE?!" portion... because crowds of randoms don't behave like trained soldiers? Charging through a breached perimeter right in to well trained and equipped defenders pretty much guarantees a massacre?

I was on about this other day too, arguing about montreal being "inspiring" or not. It's not that people didn't try hard enough or were complacent. Clearly they tried and these achievements aren't nothing but these were just the limits of the 90s era tactics imo. Still quite impressive to anyone who's ever tried fighting the cops.
