On this episode of the It’s Going Down podcast, we spoke with Bill Budington, a long-time anarchist and senior staff technologist at the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) based out of the San Francisco Bay area about government and corporate surveillance and how to build up electronic self-defense on your phone, on your computer. and to defend your data. We also got to nerd out on many applications that many of use everyday; from Signal to Protonmail.

We spend most of the conversation talking about what Bill sees both anarchists and the public doing wrong when it comes to using technology in ways that leave us open to surveillance and tracking. We also discuss basic things we can do to change our habits along with do’s and don’ts regarding everything from texting, phones, personal computers, web browsers, VPNs, email, Tor, and much more.
