NO KINGS, NO MASTERS, NO WAR, NO GENOCIDE.

Call for Anti-Authoritarian Bloc in 28-March No Kings Demonstration in Champaign, IL.

Indivisible and 50501 have come again to convince you the path out of the ascendant tyranny and increasing state-sanctioned violence is to march and beg so that Trump plays by the norms of respectability-politics and the rule of law. No civil disobedience, no mean words, no concrete demands. They bemoan the internationally tarnished image of the United $tates in the eyes of the EU and other developed, liberal polities. They truly believe Trump is “everything America is not” and that “America was once a country to be proud of.”

This is Blue MAGA, this is what obscures the truth: The U$ empire is the enemy to a majority of the world, for its role in their oppression and impoverishment, and that Trump is everything this country was, is, will be. Trump is the U$ personified: egotistical, nativist, racist, patriarchal, brutish. To believe otherwise is simply because your material interest lies in this empire maintaining hegemony and exploiting the world and all its inhabitants.

The real threat is not the idea of a King, but the continued presence of the United $tates and its President, a position that has more vested powers than many of the world’s dictators and “enemies of the Free World.”

Last year, we gained access to Indivisible’s internal documents. The organizers did not list police or right-wing agitators as threats, but pro-Palestinian activists: “We’re reasonably certain there will be uninvited pro-Palestinian protesters present. The group(s) likely to lead them have a track record of not being especially compliant with requests.”

Indivisible also never acknowledged that at the first No Kings demonstration, a right-wing agitator harmed a protestor! This protestor was a U$ Veteran, just holding a sign. This clearly shows the hypocrisy of Liberal and Far-Right patriots, who will betray anyone, including those with military history, who deviate from the status quo. Indivisible, in the same memo, also celebrates working with the Pigs: “Our events, so far, do not have a track record of having counter protestor presence. We’ve also, so far, had a good working relationship with local law enforcement offices.”

Indivisible believes they own the demonstration, that the streets do not belong to the People, but to the Organizers. Step, speak, stand only as they command. We reject this on the principle of liberty. If we cannot exercise freedom in the streets, then freedom is but a word. Instead, we want to see the people in the streets demanding an immediate end to the harassment of our migrant neighbors, an end to all military and economic aggression abroad, and an end to the support for the Zionist entity. These are minimum demands.

If you wish to participate, we encourage you to wear black, wear a mask, and push this demonstration to be what a protest really should be: a disruption.

We anarchists have been at the forefront of the movement for freedom and the advancement of the oppressed classes. We have been imprisoned, deported, and martyred for our commitment to liberty and equality. We will not stop.

As James Conolly said, “For our demands most moderate are / We only want the earth.”

This is only the beginning. Come find us.

Yours in struggle,
John O’Reiley Society.

Yeah, well maybe we can tell that to people there and make them a bit more radical. The organizers might not be radicals, but some people going might become radicals.

You can't make people more radical when they're not radicals to begin with, when they're liberal nationalists. You could convert them to being radicals.

First of all, I don't know why you think people can't be radicalized, that's ridiculous. You came out of your momma quoting Erico Malatesta and Huey P. Newton didya?

More importantly, there are people there who are already radical and just don't know it yet and/or don't have access to other radicals. These are the spaces to show up outside of bloc wearing boots, braces and a SHARP shirt and start recruiting folks. They've got numbers, time to poach.

The worst part of this post is the apostrophe on doing. And the misspelling of Errico. And the stockbroker cosplay outfit. And the dismissing of agency. And the invoking of dead men. And...

Folks on this site are so combative, it's weird. This isn't kiwi-farms, people here aren't the enemy. I apologize for being flippant before, we need solidarity and growth, not snarky assholes on the internet.

Back to my point, even things that have failed in the past can work with a little adjustment to the strategy. We can continue to show up to these things, have the organizers control everything, and rat on us when we do any direct action; or we can show up outside of bloc, show folks what autonomy looks like by refusing to acknowledge the organizers authority over us. Obviously folks will still do direct action, but diversity of tactics is important.

Now that I think about it this is fairly common, at least at smaller actions. Someone usually shows up to table zines. Most folks have no clue about NoBlogs, Channel Zero, anews, or any of this stuff. The only reason I found these things is because I'm a fucking autistic nerd who has to find every resource on a subject before I engage with it. The majority of people are watching the action on Instagram or Tiktok, and none of us are about to respond to inquiries on those platforms.

Anyways, hope that makes sense or whatever. One more thing, and this isn't to be a dick, just a fellow anarchist comrade giving some advice; responding to someone by attacking how they wrote something instead of what they said is not only strawmanning, it's also ableist and racist. Just something to consider. I'd love to hash out possible strategies or even hear your rebuttals but if it's going to be more of the above you'll be talking to yourself. I'm not interested in back and forth shit talking online.

to be fair, humor online is challenging even for those with the same cultural background.

also to be fair, same creature, snarky assholes and solidarity/growth is a false binary. some of the snarkiest assholes i've ever known have done the most for community and created more infrastructure than you'll probably ever know.

Longboard Ranger is the highest patch. A ranger is a first responder in your neighborhood. We can make a ranger camp with a pump track and work on skill sharing.

In the eyes of a ranger
The unsuspecting stranger
Had better know the truth of wrong from right

'Cause the eyes of a ranger are upon you
Any wrong you do, he's gonna see
When you're in Texas, look behind you
'Cause that's where the ranger's gonna be

In the heart of a Ranger,
He'll never know the danger
From desperate men with nothing left to lose.
The Ranger keeps on coming,
So there ain't no sense in running.
He's bound and sure to make you pay your dues.

When a Ranger's on your trail,
He won't know how to fail
And you can't buy him off at any price.
So if you decide to ramble,
And with your life you'd gamble,
Know where you are before you roll the dice.

If you see him coming round
The outskirts of town,
Never take that Ranger for a ride.

I completely agree with the main idea of an Anti-Authoritarian contingent at the No Kings! rallies. The contingent should put out its own leaflets and carry its own signs.

However, I think that the John O'Reilly Society makes a mistake. It seems to lump together the liberal Indivisible leadership with the millions of ordinary, working class and middle class, protestors, who have all sorts of politics. Indivisible and most of the other organizers aim to channel popular dissatisfaction with Trump's fascistic regime into electing Democrats. (I've heard that Indivisible leaders don't even like the DSA, because it is "socialist.")

Revolutionary anarchists, however, are delighted by independent popular action, outside of elections, against the state's agents, as appeared in Minneapolic. We want to encourage it. We fight against the electoralist politics of Indivisible (and the DSA). Anarchists should do all we can to encourage independent demonstrations, to increase their militancy, to raise our politics inside them, and to use them as opportunities to communicate with angry people.

Suggested slogans: No Kings! No Presidents! Power to the People!
Abolish ICE, No Cops! Open the Borders! No Republicans, But Don't Trust the Democrats! etc.

This kind of stuff is so funny to me. "They think THEY OWN THE DEMONSTRATION."
Newsflash, they do! They're the ones who organized it! It wouldn't be happening if they didn't!

Yes, their politics are an atrocious grab bag of liberal apologia for the state, capital, and everything else that makes our lives miserable. But that's what THEIR demonstration is premised on.

I think the idea of intervening in something like this is great, though this call betrays that its authors are incredibly confused about what they're trying to accomplish. Are you trying to agitate the liberals? That's great, but showing up in Black Bloc will do literally nothing but alienate them...especially if it's only like five of you (which it's guaranteed to be in tiny ass Champaign-Urbana).

Okay, so if you're aim is to use the demo for cover to do something more direct (stupid in this context IMO), then why are you complaining about the content or messaging of the overall demo at all?

If you actually are anarchists, then you’re supposed to respect that a community can set certain “rules” within itself, even if you disagree.

Yet here you are disregarding their deliberate non-violent stance in contradiction to their stated aims.

Yank anarchos quoting an Irish nationalist announcing they will be doing one more fancy dress walk. Genuinely a comical movement.

anonymous (not verified) Fri, 03/27/2026 - 06:25

CrimethInc made leaflets for the No Kings marches & unsurprisingly they have no critique of the liberal American nationalist framework of the organizers. CrimethInc still haven't caught up w/ the anarchist Charles Leigh James who in 1886 already mentioned the colonial/slavery foundations of America.
It's not like CrimethInc are completely unaware of the history, they're just in the moment strategically holding their tongue to recruit liberal nationalists who would be offended to have their sense of self challenged.

That's the point, that CrimethInc are opportunists about it, saying it when safe and easy to do so, hiding it in order to pander to liberal nationalists when supposedly difficult. Whereas James was just putting it out there in general (he also wasn't free of racism).
