Only about 15 people – relatives of the defendants and representatives of the Russian media – were allowed into the courtroom.

On November 15, Minsk regional court heard the criminal case against anarchists Dzmitry Dubouski, Ihar Alinevich, Syarhei Ramanau, and Dzmitry Rezanovich.

Judge Vyachaslau Tuleyka decided to hold the trial behind closed doors. Only close relatives and representatives of the Russian media were allowed in the hall. The rest were not allowed in, allegedly because “there are no more places.”

The defendants were detained last October 28 near the Ukrainian border. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said they seized two firearms with ammunition, a hand grenade, a traumatic pistol and ammunition, cold steel weapons and pepper gas cans, military-style uniforms and backpacks, tents, a sapper shovel, ax, flashlights, laptops and tablets, GPS-trackers, video recorders, photo cameras, flash drives, SIM-cards of the Ukrainian mobile operator, radio communication equipment with concealed headsets, special outfit, and equipment, bank cards, money in different currencies. The State Security Committee believes that Alinevich’s group is responsible for arson of the State Automobile Inspectorate in Mazyr and the cars at the Prosecutor’s Office in Salihorsk.

All four are accused of “an act of terrorism” (Part 2 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code) and “illegal trafficking of weapons” (Part 2 and Part 4 of Article 295 of the Criminal Code). At the same time, Alinevich and Dubouski are also charged with the “illegal cross-border movement of prohibited substances” (Part 1 of Article 333). (part 1 of article 333-1 of the Criminal Code).
