Born in Marseille in 1954, writer Henri-Frédéric Blanc died in the same city on January 23, 2025, the victim of aggressive cancer. He was the author of some thirty books: anarchist novels, plays, short stories, poetry, pastiches and pamphlets. He came to CIRA in 2023 to present Martine Plaucheur's book on statues to be debunked. Without being a regionalist writer, he used the various facets of the Marseilles vernacular to give voice to the cagoles, the idle mystics, the hoodlums and other neighborhood weirdos.
