News from the prison called the Republic of Belarus, December 2021

Write an anarchist prisoner today!

from ABC Belarus

On 2 December Gayane Akhtiyan, mother of an anarchist Roman Khalilov, became a suspect in a criminal case. The proceedings were instituted upon art. 342 (part 1) of the Criminal Code (organisation and preparation of activities grossly violating the public order, or active participation in them). Previously, on 26 November, the apartment of Gayane Akhtiyan in Polack was searched, she was detained and initially arrested for 10 days for ‘insubordination to police’. On 2 December she was transferred from Polack to Minsk, and on 12 December her status changed from a suspect to an accused, and detention prolonged as an arrest. This case is a precedental one, an example of pressure on activists who moved abroad through their relatives who stay in Belarus. Khalilov lives in Poland, in Belarus a criminal case is open against him since 2020

Toby Shone speaks from the dungeons

Write an anarchist prisoner today!

from Act for freedom now!

Full title: Bristol UK: Toby Shone speaks from the dungeons of Bristol prison, explaining his case.

Operation Adream is a montage, fitting together disparate, unconnected elements, typical of repressive operations in Southern Europe which has spread across the continent. This is now being deployed by the British police. Operation Adream seeks to present the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire as a continuation of the armed Marxist-Leninist revolutionary organisation November 17th. This is an important fantasy for the purposes of repression in this operation as November 17th is a proscribed group in UK. Most importantly, Operation Adream sought to present the diverse range of anarchist groups, publishing projects and prisoner support initiatives as an array of organisational hubs for the execution and glorification of terrorism.

TotW: Contradictions, make peace or fight them?

We all have contradictions in our practice and our ideas. Not just anarchists, obviously, but definitely anarchists, perhaps most foundationally (at least, I like to think so).

What are the four main contradictions in your life with your anarchist ideas of how life should be (you can go meta huge, like capitalism, but probably that won't be as much fun for this topic), and what are ways that you plan to negotiate/mess with them this coming year?

Position of ABC-Belarus on the situation with Dzmitry Dubovski

write an anarchist prisoner... today!

From Anarchist Black Cross Belarus

The day after the detention of the group of anarcho-partisans the propaganda trash cans posted a video in which Dzmitry Dubovski admits his guilt in attacking the regime and testifies against other members of the group. At the time, the relatively hasty publication of the news by the Lukashists, the serious accusations of terrorism, and Dubovski’s own lengthy involvement in the anarchist movement led us to question the truthfulness of the story about the anarchist who had begun cooperating with the investigation.

The time has come for my roar to be heard

The time has come for my roar to be heard

Denunciation of sectarianism by the Biologica haunt

“Man, your head is haunted; you have wheels in your head! […] You have a fixed idea!” – Max Stirner

It’s been some time that I wanted my anger to be heard. An anger that awaited for its moment, so that it can be ready to be released from within me. If this denunciation won’t bother everyone, it will bother most, if not then it will bother a few. And for many reasons that I won’t analyse!
