Chile: Strength and concrete solidarity with comrades Juan Aliste and Marcelo Villarroel
Today, through these words, we want to support some colleagues who resist with dignity in the High Security Prison in Santiago de Chile, we’re referring to Juan Aliste Vega and Marcelo Villarroel Sepúlveda, autonomous and libertarian subversive prisoners. These comrades are currently serving a sentence for some bank robberies, one of which culminated in the death of a cop on October 18, 2007.

Letter from Imprisoned Anarchist Comrade Carla
Salut!
After 536 days on the run, I was arrested on July 26th near Saint-Etienne. I experienced the arrest as the first performance of a scene repeated a thousand times in my head, or rather 536 times? Everything seemed to happen in slow motion: the hooded cops pointing their rifles at me, put me down and ask me the name that I’ve so often been called lately. It felt strange to pronounce it.

Words by comrade Francisco Solar for the International Week of Solidarity with Imprisoned Anarchists (23-30 August 2020)
How can we achieve moments of freedom, even if they are only brief and sporadic? What are those moments where we feel that what limits us loses weight and sense?

Tell us all your favorite stories of escapes from prisons!Tell us how would you help break out others from the outside of these prisons!
From International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners, 23 – 30 August
Prisons are places of darkness, of gloom, real life cannot flourish there. Because what is “real life”? It is one in freedom, integrated in friendly relationships, experiencing oneself as an individual. Because we live ourselves and are not lived.

Another episode, another seismic shift in the global landscape. This time, it’s an an unprecedented mass uprising against police led by activists, protesters and yes, rioters, who are making moves to change the violent systemic racism of the police, prisons and politicians. So we’ll be talking about the government repression of BLM and Antifa.
