Learning From Portland

 Learning From Portland

by Black Flag Catalyst

My city: Portland, Oregon is currently under siege from an occupying force. Make no mistake in assuming the state will hesitate to occupy other cities with their militant, violent force, for less than reasonable reason(s). It’s spread to Columbus, Ohio, and Miami. We learned from Standing Rock, the state uses protests as a testing ground for what they can do at other protests.

Anarchists Team With Locals to Block Pipeline Through Appalachia

from mother jones by Mason Adams, May 25, 2020

“Life in these mountains ain’t always been easy, so people around here take a stand when they see something they don’t agree with—and I’m one of them,” says walrus-mustached Jammie Hale in his thick southwestern Virginia mountain accent. “People that grow up in places like this, seeing their environment destroyed, it stirs them, it causes people to want to get involved, and that’s why I’m here.”

3 Years Since the Death of Santiago Maldonado

3 Years Since the Death of Santiago Maldonado

From Anarchists Worldwide, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Three years after the disappearance and assassination of our anarchist comrade Santiago Maldonado, words will never be enough to cover the pain generated by the death in action of a comrade in the hands of the enemy and in the recuperation attempt of the reformists, but we can find those that speak of our convictions, of the surrender even in moments where everything seems to be going downhill, of the comrades who time and again raise their heads and in the darkness of the night or in the hooded street struggle claim the insurrected memory, because that is where neither El Lechuga nor any comrade is forgotten, when we do not let the pain overcome our surrender, when we do not give in and affirm once again the social war that the authority has declared on us long ago.

Call for Week of Solidarity With Anarchist Prisoners

Call for International Week of Solidarity With Anarchist Prisoners 2020 // 23 – 30 August

From Till all are free

A new decade has started on this planet. With the rise of right-wing movements and the slow decline of social democracy, we are looking into coming years of intense struggle with the state and capitalism. There are already many anarchists sitting in prisons for taking on this fight—forgotten or ignored by liberals and human rights NGOs for “violent” actions.

Free Michael Kimble, Raze the Walls

Free Michael Kimble, Raze the Walls

From June 11th, Bloomington, Indiana

“Never should we lay down and accept the state’s logic of submission by depending on the state to free us. Freedom is in our hands.” – Michael Kimble

On June 5, 2020, in anticipation of the June 11th International Day of Solidarity with Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners, we participated in a march in Bloomington, Indiana against the police murder of Black people by spreading word about our beloved friend Michael Kimble, Black anarchist and intransigent prison rebel.

Rioting in France in Solidarity with Anti-Police Uprising in US

On Tuesday, June 2, a demonstration against police violence, which had been banned by the prefect of Paris, Didier Lallement, a few hours before, took place and brought together nearly 20,000 people before the High Court of the Porte de Clichy. Two hours after the start of this rally, echoing the current revolt movement in the United States, the noise of broken windows began to cover that of citizen slogans calling for justice. During wild demonstrations, the windows of a municipal police station, bank branches and supermarkets are smashed, construction machinery and electric scooters burnt down.
