<table><tr><td>Athens. Greece. At two thousand kilometres distance. A nearly bankrupted Greek state and an economy that doesn’t function anymore. On the advice of the European Union, the ruling socialist party calls for a series of economic measures and restructurings. The ministers swear it will take “blood, sweat and tears”, but “it’s the only option”. Roads, harbours, airports, borders, factories, railroads,… have frequently been blocked since January, blocked by those who know they’re the ones who’ll pay the price.

<table><tr><td>After our car was broken into in Berkeley and large amounts of valuable things were taken out, we've been awed by the flood of support from US anarchists. We'd been touring around the country for a month in a borrowed car on a shoestring budget, giving presentations about the Greece insurrection, and were hoping to leave that day for the next talk, when we found our window smashed open and several boxes of books and equipment missing. Thanks to the generosity of our networks, this hardly slowed us down.

<table><tr><td>Back when I still had a Facebook, I posted a status update that mentioned the Lacanian "Objet petit a" in reference to the State's legal and social apparatus. An always-vigilant former classmate from high school saw this and engaged me in a classic Internet Argument to assure me that he understood Lacan much better than I and that I should "not read him through someone else" (in reference to Zizek, of whose writing I am fond).
