How We Make THE DUGOUT (step by step guide to making a Black radical podcast)

From The Dugout and Prince Shakur

Ever wondered how an episode of The Dugout comes together?

We take you behind the scenes of how we make The Dugout: from how the podcast started, to researching topics, booking guests, recording, editing, and posting episodes online. We break down our full process, talk about the challenges of building independent media, and share what goes into making a Black anarchist podcast with limited resources.

In Contempt #6

Palestinian Prisoners’ Day, New Book from Casey Goonan, Marius Will Be Free, Malik “Disappeared,” Anarchists of the World on Trial

We return after Palestinian Prisoners’ Day with a renewed commitment to struggle for the freedom of prisoners everywhere, to expand international solidarity, and to tear down the walls that hold hostage the future for which we fight. This month's In Contempt, a roundup of repression news, political prisoner updates, and prisoner rebellions, is an attempt to prove that repression breeds resistance––but only if we try. Until all are free.

Portland: A message to Day Wireless

From Rose City Counter-Info

Day Wireless outfits ICE with radios and other surveillance tech so they can more easily carry out the ethnic cleansing ordered by Trump and his collection of ghouls in cheap suits. Those of us with a conscience must do whatever we can to throw sand in gears of this fascist machine. We wanted to send a message to Day Wireless by hanging a banner and giving their company vehicle a new paint job. Imagine our delight when we discovered a few cop cars in their parking lot as well.

With Ambulance Chasers Like These, Who Needs Enemies?

From MTL Counter-info

On March 9th, 2011, in Midan El-Tahrir in Egypt, the Egyptian military arrested an estimated 18 women. They tortured them and carried out “virginity tests” to be able to prosecute them for “prostitution” – a charge any unmarried woman who is not a virgin faces in most of the Arab world. In Egypt “prostitution” carries a punishment of up to seven years, and obviously social and cultural death if not an honor killing by the families. Women faced persecution for taking part in protests and various occupations of the square because of this case, combined with horrendous sexual assaults by security forces in the Midan. This story on its own reflects the severe consequences of conservative society. Conservatism is anti-insurrection, developed and encouraged by states to control ‘the crowd’ and ‘the people’.

TOTW: Nothing Ever Happens

Does it ever feel like nothing ever happens? You may have ever heard the phrase before, which is a bit of a meme now. But the basic idea is that there are no global events that fundamentally change the world order. Current events occur, horrible (Palestine, Sudan, some shitty election) and great (Luigi Mangione, the recent string of arsons) things do happen, but the premise is that the power balance of the world, either between classes or states, fundamentally remains the same or reflects those of recent history.

P0rt0 Al3gre. For Sara and Sandro at the Italian Consulate

From Act for Freedom Now! - Brazil

The affinity we share and expand is in large part realised by our confrontation with power, which we communicate through actions, calls, responses, and reflections that spur us on to further action. That affinity also comes, and deeply so, from tenderness between comrades, which is one of the forces that drives us to act, so that they feel that in the anarchist struggle, we are here too!

Report from the 13th IFA Congress, 3-5 April 2026 , Athens, Greece

From International of Anarchist Federations

A report from the 13th Congress of the International of Anarchist Federations (IFA-IAF), Athens

The 13th Congress of the International of Anarchist Federations (IFA-IAF) took place in Athens on the weekend of 3-5 April 2026, hosted by Αναρχική Πολιτική Οργάνωση – Ομοσπονδία Συλλογικοτήτων (Anarchist Political Organisation-Federation of Collectives -APO). Amongst the other federations which participated were Federazione Anarchica Italiana (FAIt, Italy), Fédération Anarchiste (FA, French-speaking), Federazione Anarchica Siciliana (FAS, Sicily), Federación Libertaria Argentina (FLA), Federacija za anarhistično organiziranje (Federation for Anarchist Organizing, FAO, Slovenia & Croatia), Федерация на анархо-комунистите в България (FACB, Federation of Anarchist-communists in Bulgaria), Anarchist Federation (AF, Britain), with guests from observing individuals from Brazil (Aurora Negra & Terre Livre) and Serbia (Klasna Solidarnost). Federation members and associated groups from Mexico, Brazil, Czech-Slovak, German-speaking and Kurdish Anarchist Forum did not participate, the latter due to concerns about the situation in the Middle East. Cuban comrades were also invited but contact has been increasingly difficult during the economic blockade.

May Day and Anarchism

From The Eclipse

May Day goes back at least as far as ancient Rome, celebrated by various European cultures as the start of summer and a festival of fertility and rebirth. Modern May Day is more associated with International Workers Day, originating with the American Federation of Labour (AFL), who launched a campaign for the 8 hour day on the 1st of May 1886. Many of us today take the 8 hour day for granted, but in the 19th century many workers were working 12, 14 or even 16 hour days. It was only through concerted struggle that the 8 hour day was won as the “standard” work day across much of North America and Europe.

Criminal or association? Charges dropped against one of the three accused in the Munich “Zündlumpen” case

Once again yellow envelopes fly into the mailboxes of anarchists in Munich. This time without the spirited ramblings of our favorite General SA employee Firoozi (or rather we seem to be her favorites). Instead this time it is the association “VRIOLG Dr. Stoll” & Co., from the higher court of Munich, that has honored some anarchists with their text. More than three months after the judicial association Himmelstoß & Co. declined to reopen the “Zündlumpen” case in the Staatsschutz (SS) chamber, due to a lack of evidence connecting one of the accused to the publishing of “Zündlumpen,” and after General SA Firoozi appealed the decision, the higher court of Munich has finally graced us with their decision.

Defense Statement of Adit, Anarchist Prisoner in Chaos Star Case

From Dark Nights

Your Honorable Panel of Judges,

After everything that has happened regarding the act of violence I committed in the case of the burning of this police post, I have gained many things that I must take upon myself. About how the state —long before what I did— has carried out acts of violence on a far greater scale.

Trial Update on Comrade Komar in Surabaya (Chaos Star Case)

From Dark Nights - Indonesia

After being arrested by the West Java Police in September 2025 and serving a six-month sentence at Kebon Waru Prison in Bandung, Comrade Komar was once again arrested by the Surabaya City Police on March 9, 2026, under charges of incitement. The new charges stem from different documents related to protests in Surabaya during August-September 2025, as well as involvement with the Black Bloc Zone account on social media.

About the raids at the anarchist library Kalabalik and the widespread wave of repression in Berlin

Early in the morning of March 24, 2026, the time had come once again. The doors of 17 buildings in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Kyritz were kicked in by a squad of masked figures who descended upon the people sleeping there, or, as in our case, upon bookshelves and newspaper archives. Reason for the violent wake-up call by the Berlin LKA, this time, was an arson attack last September on the power supply to the Adlershof Technology Park, which resulted in a widespread blackout. They’re looking for evidence to finally prove all the mental acrobatics of the investigation team “Spannung” [tension] to back up their hallucinated theories. This is at least what can be inferred from the search warrant presented, which was approved by enforcement judge Jacob. The places targeted were Infoladen Scherer8, L5 Späti, and several private apartments, and, as has happened several times in the past, the Anarchist Library Kalabalik in Kreuzberg.

Friday May 1st. Global Call for Anarchist and Anti Authoritarian Solidarity

From autonomies

For the past decade precarity, poverty and police "democracy" have been at the forefront of our lives. Public space and service has been replaced with law and order. Austerity for all is now simply just the way things are. Ten years of worsening conditions, now it seems that cracks are beginning to form. Mayday has always been a point of contention. As anarchist and radical movements lost and gained strength, so did the anarchistic, rebellious spirit of May 1st. For years May 1st was the day to display global revolutionary solidarity.
