Calling all anarchist queers, abolitionist faggots, decolonial baddies, nasty dykes, criminal gender deviants, anti-assimilationist sluts, and insurrectionary hookers! Please join us in so-called Portland, Oregon for a weekend of action, discussions, action, orgies, parties, conflict, workshops, rupture, filth, and more.

So much has changed since Bash Back was declared dead 16 years ago, and yet much remains the same. The brief facade of liberal progress has disappeared as swiftly as it arrived. Some of us who wholeheartedly proclaimed “No Future” find ourselves still here and fighting, a decade or more older than we ever thought we would live, while others of us are too young to meaningfully remember a world without the yoke of overt fascism. All of us mourn the loss of too many lovers, friends, and comrades taken from us by overdose, despair, medical neglect and poverty, gendered and white supremacist violence, or the pull toward normalcy, a career, and the nuclear family. Prisons and national borders are more fortified than ever. A gay cop is no longer a shocking aberration, but neither is the return of the overt surveillance and criminalization of gender deviance. The proliferation of infinite gender and sexual microidentities has become a means to assert one’s subject position under this technoindustrial hellscape rather than a springboard for attack.

There is much to learn from previous anarchist queer formations and our criminal queer ancestors, and we seek to approach this history with clear eyes situated in our own contemporary context. Yet our task remains the same – we must immediately obliterate every apparatus of control, capture, policing, surveillance, and assimilation. We hope that GAPECON 2026 will be an opportunity to share and experiment with new ways of fighting, loving, fucking, and scheming.

LET’S TEAR A HOLE IN THE FABRIC OF SOCIETY

We are looking for activity/workshop/discussion proposals related to the following themes: prison revolt, reflections on previous eras of queer struggle, weird freaky art, weird freaky sex, autonomous queer and trans healthcare, anti-racist and decolonial queer action, AIDS, anti-surveillance analysis and strategy, scene reports, care and social reproduction outside/against/beyond the nuclear family, anti-repression, youth liberation... and whatever else you're excited about! Please proposition us ;)
