flyer

From Puget Sound Anarchists
April 5, 2025

Responding to the call for neighborhood anarchist assemblies, efforts were undertaken to organize an assembly at Roxhill Park. We spread the word through our personal networks and via flyering around our neck of the woods which in the age of digital organizing, left us uncertain of what to expect when the day arrived.

To our pleasant surprise over 20 people responded to the call, most of who were meeting each other for the first time and were eager to find ways to try and collectively express our shared values and ethics that brought us together in the first place. The assembly began with unstructured time that was spent chatting and enjoying a fine spread of food and zines before transitioning to a lightly facilitated discussion. People took turns sharing about events and ongoing organizing in our neighborhoods before moving toward discussing current events and areas of concern that offer potential for further colleve action.

One big focus of the discussion was around the relative geographic isolation of West Seattle compared to the rest of the city and a desire to find ways to work together in our immediate surroundings. The idea is that by refocusing our efforts more at the neighborhood level, we will better be able to consistently participate and grow our capabilities where it matters most. With that thought finding resonance, the event ended with a consensus that efforts should be made to have these kind of events with some level of consistency and a group is working together to keep the energy moving forward so keep your eyes and ears open in West Seattle for word of future assemblies.

not sure if you can hear me from so deep in that ass groove in your chair BUUUT

any first neighbourhood assembly that didn't end in bad-faith cancellings, shit talking and maybe some chair throwing if you're nasty like that? absolutely a win!

of course, if they have 2 or 3 more semi-successful assemblies, that pretty much guarantees that all the worst clout-chasing identity politicians will show up and try to shit all over everything, so i wish them luck in jumping that next fence!
