Education, in many ways, has changed since the early 20th century. Many (the liberals I mean) are quite okay with the current system, only believing in minor reforms. These mirror their own concerns about American society at large: more diversity, more democracy (for parents and staff, rarely the children!), sanitation, etc. They ignore the fundamental issues that are at the heart of education that anarchist Voltairine De Cleyre and others saw.

This is anarchy dear children. We believe in the horizontal organization without protagonists or sponsors, in fraternity and mutual support and so we find more compas along that line, and this time we organize with the Biblioteca Libertaria La Social to bring this festival dedicated to childhood on Sunday, April 28.

This text is the result of a reflection and doesn’t aim to be exhaustive. We are aware that the topic to which we come up is delicate and that this text will probably trigger strong reactions. Nevertheless, we think that it’s important to talk about it given the hegemony of the pro-natalist thought and the consequences it generates.
