Historic flooding has hit the south of so-called Brazil. Fueled by the effects of runaway climate change and exacerbated by government inaction and incompetence, these floods have submerged entire cities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and many neighborhoods of its capital, Porto Alegre. They have wiped away entire communities, and killed dozens of people. The anarchist social center in Porto Alegre, Esp(a)ço, has been set up as a hub to receive donations of supplies, and to get them to those in need. They need our help.

Almost 2 years after the collapse of Operation Solidarity and the formation of the Solidarity Collectives, we decided to take a closer look at the story of the disappearance of the money and put a stop to this conversation. The reason for writing this article was the repeated discussions of the members of our collective about this story and the lack of a full description of the situation in the network for those who did not follow the organization at the time of its split.

A Guide for Anarchists with a Video Walkthrough

In the following account, a participant describes how people involved in an anarchist social center set up a haunted house last October as a fundraiser to support defendants facing RICO charges as a consequence of repression targeting the movement to Stop Cop City. This is an excellent example of how creative efforts can add a joyous element to political outreach and legal support.

Six anarchists from Russia have been held in pre-trial detention for a year on spurious charges of creating a "terrorist community". The main proof of guilt is a confession given under torture.

For a new space for the Centro de Cultura Libertária/Libertarian Cultural Center!

The space that the Libertarian Cultural Centre (Almada, Portugal) has occupied and rented for almost 50 years is again in danger. The continued pressure exerted by gentrification and the real estate market that has evicted and forced out of city centres hits us once again. After years of threats and eviction processes that we resisted, in March 2024, the CCL will have to leave its historic headquarters in Cacilhas.
