Until the end of the sentence - Why we came here

Received via email, written by Nikos Maziotis.

Some time ago (26/2/2025), as I had published the text «Revolutionaries are not "corrected" nor "morally improved"»*, the Lamia Misdemeanor Council had rejected my request for conditional release for the umpteenth time.

Fifteen years on, COMRADE LAMBROS FOUNTAS LIVES

On March 10, 2010, the anarchist Lambros Fountas was shot and killed in a battle with greek police. On the fifteenth anniversary of his death, Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis, imprisoned comrades from the organization Revolutionary Struggle, to which Fountas belonged & on behalf of which he was acting at the time of his murder, have released a text.

While their text memorializes the anarchist martyr Lambros Fountas, it also provides deep, valuable analysis of both the context in which he was acting and the situation in the present day.

Nikos Maziotis: On the Latest Rejection of My Parole

From Abolition Media

For the 5th time, the Lamia Criminal Court has recently rejected my request for conditional release despite the 3rd consecutive positive prosecution. During the last 2.5 years since I have reached the law of suspension by law, Lamia’s judicial councils, including the Lamia Council I had once appealed, have rejected a total of 6 times my request for conditional release. It is now very likely that I will be one of the few prisoners nationwide – if not the only one – with a temporary prison sentence with the maximum sentence of 20 years under the 2019 Presidential Code that will get the entire sentence without parole.

Solidarity Day for Final Release of Roupa & Immediate Release of Maziotis

Via Abolition Media

As anarchists, comrades, we stand in solidarity in the fight for the definitive release of comrade Pola Roupa and the immediate release of comrade Nikos Maziotis. Pending the decision of the Evia Court of Appeal, we call a SOLIDARITY DAY IAN GREECE on February 9, 2024. We call on comrades in Greece and around the world to be vigilant and act in solidarity.

Nikos Maziotis on his 4th rejection of parole

Via Act for freedom now!

Comrade Roupa’s attitude was no different from mine. Together we took political responsibility for our participation in Revolutionary Struggle, together we defended the organization’s action as political action in and out of court, and we remained consistent throughout our detention. Neither can it be intellectually claimed that Comrade Roupa “transformed” her character in prison, nor did she change her political beliefs and views and was released unrepentant with her head held high. This is actually our own political victory against the state.

Text from anarchists prisoners Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis

From Act for Freedom Now!

We are two imprisoned political prisoners, members of the armed anarchist organization Revolutionary Struggle, which operated between 2003 and 2017. During that time, we took responsibility for 18 actions and attacks against various targets related to the political and economic regime, the state, and capital. The Revolutionary Struggle claimed responsibility for bombings and armed attacks targeting the Ministries of Finance and Labour, the Athens Stock Exchange, the Bank of Greece, the International Monetary Fund office, banks, police stations, as well as the suppression of riots and demonstrations by the riot police (MAT).
