Uncivilized Distro is taking submissions for a new zine, “Anarchy With an X”! is a zine project all about radical sobriety, straight edge, temperance, and related abstinence cultures and lifestyles and their relationships with anarchy and abolition.

Uncivilized Podcast Interviews ANews

I can't help but open with our usual: hello, everyone, this is Artxmis with the uncivilized podcast. For those that do not know, the uncivilized project has come to an indefinite hiatus and has been taken offline. The original hiatus began out of a lack of interest on behalf of the creators. The taking down of the podcast happened because some members of the group behind the project feel intimidated by the trump's administration's growing venom towards anarchists and other "unamerican" elements. Before these decisions were made, I reached out to thecollective, an anonymous coalition that helps manage and moderate the site, and we were able to do an asynchronous interview. What you will read is the text version of that interview. Much love & many thanks to members of thecollective who participated and were very patient for this to come together.

Hey everyone, this is Artxmis with the Uncivilized Podcast. I just wanted to give a quick update and explanation concerning our recent inactivity.

Artxmis is joined by Voice of Failure (VOF) to discuss the limits and bounds of the traditional anarcho-primitivist critique, such as anthropology, ecology, and the primacy of material reality. Strap in, it’s a dense but interesting conversation!

For those new, Plastic in Utero: a journal of anti-civ anarchy reborn from the compost of wasteland modernity (from now on, PIU) is an extension of the Uncivilized Project, which encompasses the Uncivilized Podcast and Uncivilized Distro. It centers the idea that anarchist ideas/theory can be fun and provocative, not dry and orderly. PIU contributors don’t participate to make a system of thought or propose a blue-print for the masses (well hopefully not, because we won’t encourage that here).

Artxmis will moderate (or try to!) between opposing perspectives. We invite you to suggest guests or topics as well as engage with the discussions in the comments, in threads, and in your day-to-day lives!
