November 17-25: Global Days of Action Against Militarism & All Wars

From de.indymedia.org
October 4, 2023

The urgency to take action against war worldwide is obvious to all. The ultimate escalation to a globally devastating war seems much easier to imagine than a future without war. The destruction of the earth seems closer than the liberation from any domination. It's time for us as anarchists to stand up and organize internationally with a new show of force against all war and military.

Refusals to fight from both sides of the front: entering the second autumn of war

From Anarchist Communist Group
September 6, 2023

The following article originally appeared on the libcom site. It was written by the comrades of the Ukrainian anarchist group Assembly

The bloody counter-offensive dragged on for months, which turned into a new meat grinder on the Somme after the new Verdun battle near Bakhmut, is being noticeably reflected in the social atmosphere. The interlocutor of Assembly, driving trains in the Kharkov subway, anonymously told back on June 25:

The war has become a daily routine: two conversations with the Kharkov underground journal

From Libcom

The collective of Assembly gave the first interview in the past six months to the Swiss resource Das Lamn at the end of February. It was published on March 13 with significant cuts due to the format of this media. We share the original, more detailed version and express our sincere gratitude to Timo Krstin for the work done. Sue Jeffers has Passed Away

From Burning River Anarchist Collective
January 4, 2023

We're heartbroken to report that Sue Jeffers had a massive stroke and did not survive.

Sue was a friend, comrade, mentor, anti-war activist, anarchist, folk singer, a pie-throwing Mad Anarchist Baker, thorn in the side of the establishment, part of the May 4th Taskforce at Kent State, and a kind, wonderful person. Her dedication and commitment to fight for a better world continues to inspire.

‘I was born an anarchist’: Kitty Lamb interview notes

i could not find a photo of Kitty Lamb (1901 – 1992), here's this instead

From Judy Greenway

I have just posted unpublished notes from two interviews with activist Kitty Lamb (1901 – 1992) about her life and the development of her anarchist beliefs. She participated in raising money for the Republic during the Spanish Civil War, war resistance in the Second World War, the campaign against capital punishment in the nineteen-fifties, and for nuclear disarmament in the sixties. She took the platform at Speakers Corner, and the stage in anarchist cabaret. Self-deprecating though she was about her own activities, these fragmentary stories illustrate her lifelong commitment to a better world, and give an insight into the shifting social and political groupings and alliances of the times.
