From: http://interferencearchive.org/audre-and-emma-genealogies-of-anarchistic...

We will be showing a collage of video documentaries and historical stock footage related to Audre Lorde and Emma Goldman (30-45 minutes) and followed by a discussion relating to the intersecting philosophical themes that they both illustrated in their writings that relate to the anarchistic genealogy of the refusal and rejection of state, capital(ism), and the multitude of hierarchies (institutional & interpersonal) that dominate our lives.

Invitation/ Call for Participants:

After various attempts to break with the endogamy of our collectives, of trying and failing to move beyond merely interpreting the works of classical anarchists, we have decided to launch this call. Our objective is to meet others and exchange experiences, skills, ideas and dreams; to return anarchism to the streets and incorporate it into everyday life.

TOTW: Anarchist Speaking Tours and other adventures

only punk rock goes on anarchist tours nowadays

Reading through some of the Emma Goldman archives, I’m reminded and amazed to see the amount of speaking tours Emma and friends held. At one point in time over six months, she traveled to 50 different cities in 18 different states, delivering over 150 lectures and debates and that's probably not even the biggest stat for this kind of information about her. During one of her discussions, over 1,800 people attended in a city that nowadays would be lucky to have 20 people attend an anarchist conversation.

BASTARD Series kicks off in Oakland this Saturday!

For nearly two decades, members of the Berkeley Anarchist Study Group have been organizing the annual BASTARD Conference — a day-long gathering of autodidacts, vagabonds, and pseudo intellectuals discussing anarchy and related shenanigans. This year, we’re trying something a little different... Introducing the BASTARD Series!

This will be a once-monthly series of presentations and conversations featuring members of the Study Group and some of our favorite minds from “the milieu” bringing you that raw shit you know and love.
