Armed Struggle

from Anathema Vol 6 Issue 7 via AMW

In that sense, just as “anarchists must say what only anarchists can say,” it does us no favors to settle for doing what others are already doing – particularly if it’s neither immediately effective nor building capacity. Not that we are likely to normalize any behavior, either, but we can expand the imaginary as to what is possible. This is not a suggestion to simply grow our capacity for violence or join some sort of gun-worship culture, either, but to recognize arms as another tool among many that an increasing number of us are holding. We may incorporate arms as it seems feasible and helpful towards goals of rupture and insurrection, as well as expanding the physical and psychological capacities of our attacks.

Anarchist Fugitive Abtin Parsa in Defense of Armed Resistance

From asranarshism via AMW English

We are in a war situation, some of us were killed, some of us are in prisons, some of us were pushed to escape and are being hidden and many of us are under a lot of pressure. We should accept that resistance against state and capitalism is not the easy way of life but we have no choice: either we resist together and survive, or the state and capitalism will kill all of us one by one.

With Neither Tyrants Nor Fascists

From IGD

If you grew up in Virginia, chances are you were never very far from guns. Here, they are as divisive as they are ubiquitous. Guns are pulled out at parties and argued about over dinner. They are bought and sold at pawn shops, advertised on billboards, given away in raffles, traded informally, gifted, stolen, won in poker games, and even sold on Facebook. Anyone over 18 with a valid driver’s license and clean record can rent one at a shooting range or buy one from their neighbor.

Anarchy Bang: Introducing Episode 35 - Gun violence and anarchy

From Anarchy Bang

There have been 283 mass shootings in the US in 2019, so far. That is more than one a day. It is hard to contemplate an anarchy that solved big problems but what if we did? Let's start with this one. Do we think a total anarchist transformation would make AR-15s magically disappear?

From AMW English along with additional MSM translation of a text via El Nuevo Día at the end via anonymous submission to Anarchist News

Following a series of uprisings that began last weekend in Puerto Rico, police in Guayama woke on Thursday morning to discover that their station had been raided. A total of thirty pistols, eighteen rifles, and approximately 4,000 rounds of ammunition had been successfully expropriated. A message threatening Governor Rosselló was found on a wall in the storage room from which these arms were taken.

Anarchist & Antifascist Thoughts on The New Zealand Shooting

From It's Going Down

March 15, 2019 marks one of the most horrifically visible manifestation of far-Right hatred that most can think of in the last couple of decades. A “lone wolf,” whose actions were incubated in hate filled internet forums like 8chan, posted a Facebook link to a live stream of him murdering 50 people and wounding an additional 50. The victims were from two different mosques, several miles away from each other in Christchurch, New Zealand, between the ages of 2 and 71.
