No Peace for ICE Agents! Protest and Block Party 1/16
From Oregon Public Broadcasting
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem set expectations high in July... she had promised swift legal action against “anarchists” and “Antifa-affiliated groups” who allegedly circulated the names, pictures and addresses of ICE officers in the city. Citing flyers of agents’ personal information and a photo of trash piled up on an officer’s lawn, she blamed unnamed politicians for “actively encouraging these attacks.”
A covert security camera system was spotted on a telephone pole on SE 67th ave in Portland... It is not clear which law enforcement agency had the camera installed, but it points directly at the home of an ICE agent who was doxxed a few months back.

Since many of us already know that there’s no safety in getting old, our anarchy doesn’t surrender to the walking corpse of time. Whether it’s 2011 or 2025, we continue to find ourselves oppressed by the same capitalism and the same statism, but with an advanced technological advantage weaponized by state power.

I reviewed the Rose city counter info blog post from Some Anarchist. I’d like to offer a Clearer Argument (based on Some Anarchists piece). Some points out that protests at the ICE office have become stuck in a loop: people show up, clash with feds, leave, and repeat. This has not shut ICE down or shifted power. To move forward, she argues, we need to change tactics.

While LA fought off ICE raids in June, Tucson remained mostly quiet. There were the appropriate outraged lectures on social media and “peaceful” demonstrations outside the federal building, with plenty of organizer back-patting afterwards, but little material result. Although there had been small indicators of disenchantment and a desire for more, including some tense rapid response callouts and a demo at a hospital which had allegedly called ICE on a patient that ended in a brief standoff with the police, this energy had not yet found any meaningful outlet. Until the flyer appeared.

From the fires of recent events, the palpability of brown anarchy burns brighter than ever. Years in the making, this piece aims to provide an accessible introduction to the topic of anarchy, and its relevance to brown people in search of justice and freedom. In it, readers are offered concepts that can enable other forms of assembling and resisting. The text is an attempt to shift our perceptions, to recognize the forms of everyday anarchy and resistance that our communities embody: to tap into the potential of these forces, and foment ungovernable brown insurgencies.
My dearest brambles,
Regarding the ICE ERO Field Office: we know the air there, thick with rot.
Each night, a handful wait until the kitted-out feds kick their asses,
then limp away, to try again,
as if only repetition is the ritual needed to conjure change.
A valiant rite,
yet the building still hums with its cruel machinery.
