Banner Drop in Solidarity with Rojava by Anarchists in Indonesia

Solidarity for Rojava/Kurdistan

We’re trying to understand the situation of any combatants who have long fought for their lands and against invasion from all sides. In the past months, the attacks of the fascist Turkish occupation forces onto the liberated areas of North-Eastern Syria have rapidly increased. Ranging from Afrin, and the resistance areas of Sehba, to the front of Manbij and Ayn Issa, to Til Temir, and up to Derik in the North-East, the Turkish occupying army intensified their attacks against the civilian population and their revolutionary defense forces.

Sabotage of CCTV by Maverick Cell

Sabotage of CCTV installation in Pontianak City by ‘Maverick Cell – FAI’ (Indonesia)

As we’ve seen during the Covid-19 pandemic, the State takes advantage of the situation with (offline and online) monitoring, controlled by police and also through technological devices, for example CCTV, smart phones, etc. Their reasons for this situation are, as we know very well, is in the name of public safety, which is an illusion repeated over and over.

More actions claimed in Indonesia

We realize that no life is worth living as long as authoritarianism chokes us with its brutality. This action is not only about the accumulated disgust and hatred we have against today’s system, the police and whatever the state creates. This action is also an act of solidarity with every combatant on the street. We believe that the destruction of state property will continue, and we will always spread terror.

Arsons Claimed in Indonesia

Our starting point as anarchists is to believe that anarchy is a complete negation of authority. The absence of “justifying” the authoritarianism in the natural form must be destroyed. This thinking finds that deeply within ourselves: autonomy, self-care, love; take control of yourself. At this juncture we're getting stuck in a crowd of mass action that determines a time and attitude within the act. We became complacent about moralization, and therefore our passion was stifled. We became who we are not. This is of course, paralysis, but not death; comrades who attack head-on are antibodies to us – we feel it so – and this “gift” is the detonation that must resonate.

Anarchists arrested for graffiti in Indonesia

From AMW

Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners in Tangerang and Bekasi, Indonesia

On April 9th, 2020, three of our comrades were arrested and convicted of a heavy crime for spraying several graffiti that say “_sudah krisis, saatnya membakar_” (there’s a crisis already, time to burn) and “_melawan atau mati konyol_” (fight or perish). What is actually a voice of rightful citizens is considered a crime of provocation. Their art is a valid criticisms toward the government’s lack of integrity in mitigating the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic and just a petty crime at most.
