Fireworks at HMP Bristol for Imprisoned Anarchist Toby Shone
Anarchists gathered at HMP Bristol on Friday 21 September at 8pm. As darkness fell, fireworks were launched over the prison to protest the rearrest of anarchist Toby Shone and to let him know he is never alone.
Admin note: both of the following reportbacks from September 7th were submitted anonymously. They both note that no arrests were made at the noise demo. At the time of publication, one day after the noise demo, Olympia Jail Support reports that one person was arrested at their home, remained silent when questioned about the demonstration, and was quickly released.

...Against Backdrop of Increasing Police Violence and Growing Prisoner Resistance
On New Year’s Eve, anarchists, abolitionists, and angry community members across the so-called United States, Canada, and the world, all took part in yearly noise demonstrations outside of jails, prisons, detention centers, and juvenile hall facilities.
‘Tis the season for cacophony! In what has come to be an anarchist tradition, the noise demo gathers like-minded individuals outside the most explicit and imposing examples of architectural control (jails/prisons) to cause a stir in the nascent new year.
Let's talk about how anarchists make noise to make sense of things.

Report back on NYE noise demo in so-called Cleveland, Ohio.
On New Years Eve 25 anarchists, abolitionists and other rebels gathered outside of the (in)Justice Center in downtown Cleveland, Ohio for the second annual New Years Eve Noise Demonstration hosted by Forest City Anarchists. This event is called every year to both highlight the horrors of the so-called criminal justice system and to let those inside know that they are not forgotten.
From NYC Anarchist Black Cross
This is a call for a night of strong solidarity with those imprisoned by the state. Historically, New Year’s Eve is one of the noisiest nights of the year. This year, most of which has been consumed by a global pandemic, we encourage folks to take whatever measures are necessary to insure individual and community well-being, in response to both the virus and the state, understanding the balance each of us must strike for ourselves. Given our current reality, on New Year’s Eve gather your crew, collective, community, organization, or just yourself to raise a racket and remind those on the inside that they are not alone.

Even though there’s been active protests going on everyday here since May 30th, it feels like things for the most part are becoming more and more tame. There’s still a lot of momentum but with it is a strong fear it’ll be overtaken by the popular liberal agenda or suppressed by state repression. Nonetheless with a curiosity of what direction things will take, and with rather low expectations I showed up to the call for the ftp noise demo..
