Solidarity Day for Final Release of Roupa & Immediate Release of Maziotis

FREEDOM!

Via Abolition Media

As anarchists, comrades, we stand in solidarity in the fight for the definitive release of comrade Pola Roupa and the immediate release of comrade Nikos Maziotis. Pending the decision of the Evia Court of Appeal, we call a SOLIDARITY DAY IAN GREECE on February 9, 2024. We call on comrades in Greece and around the world to be vigilant and act in solidarity.

Pola Roupa: They want to put me back in prison

From Act for freedom now!

On December 13th, almost one month after my release, I have been notified of an appeal by the deputy prosecutor of the court of Appeal of Euboea against the decision to suspend me, asking me to return to prison.

Nikos Maziotis on his 4th rejection of parole

Write to anarchist prisoners!

Via Act for freedom now!

Comrade Roupa’s attitude was no different from mine. Together we took political responsibility for our participation in Revolutionary Struggle, together we defended the organization’s action as political action in and out of court, and we remained consistent throughout our detention. Neither can it be intellectually claimed that Comrade Roupa “transformed” her character in prison, nor did she change her political beliefs and views and was released unrepentant with her head held high. This is actually our own political victory against the state.

Text from anarchists prisoners Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis

From Act for Freedom Now!

We are two imprisoned political prisoners, members of the armed anarchist organization Revolutionary Struggle, which operated between 2003 and 2017. During that time, we took responsibility for 18 actions and attacks against various targets related to the political and economic regime, the state, and capital. The Revolutionary Struggle claimed responsibility for bombings and armed attacks targeting the Ministries of Finance and Labour, the Athens Stock Exchange, the Bank of Greece, the International Monetary Fund office, banks, police stations, as well as the suppression of riots and demonstrations by the riot police (MAT).

About the New Trial Against Revolutionary Struggle

from anarchists worldwide

The new trial against Revolutionary Struggle [Επαναστατικού Αγώνα, ‘Epanastatikòs Agonas’] will continue at the special court in Korydallso Prison (Athens) on Friday, January 10th, 2020, at 9:00AM. This ongoing legal proceeding against the organization and its members is part of the wider series of trials that continue to involve and be directed against the comrades, in particular Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis. The charges in this trial relate to a car bomb abandoned and discovered by the police in the summer of 2017, seven months after Pola Roupa’s arrest on January the 5th of the same year. Nikos Maziotis, however, has been in prison since July 16th, 2014. In this trial the comrades are accused of “supplying, possessing and manufacturing explosives”.

Anarchist Political Statement by Antonis Stamboulou of Revolutionary Struggle

From AMW English

I want to clarify in principle that what I will say is a political statement, not an apology, as I am anarchist and do not apologize to the state power. I also do not want to ask for any mitigation and I am entitled to the law, as the dispute here is another.
