Communique from 325 Collective on the Repressive Attack upon International Counter-Information

"There must be a re-energization of the international counter-information network, to once again become a threat internationally, after the repressive reaction that seeks to isolate anarchists from each other, not just around the world but even locally."

From Act for Freedom Now, UK

On 29.03.21 the Dutch police raided the data center that holds the nostate.net server, seizing the server itself as part of a criminal investigation into ‘terrorism’. Nostate.net is a collective that provided a platform for international movement websites from prisoner solidarity groups, multiple campaign collectives, anti-summit pages and international counter-information. Significant sites that used nostate.net as a platform that have been targeted by this repressive attack by the Dutch police are Anarchist Black Cross Berlin, Montreal Counter-Info, Northshore Counter-Info, Act For Freedom Now! (now re-activated on noblogs.org https://actforfree.noblogs.org/) and 325.

TOTW: Anarchy as a Service (AaaS)!

...but some nights I quickly fall fast asleep and I dream of the laptop catching fire and consuming the whole room, the whole world...and those nights I sleep well.

Most nights, in the moments before sleep relieves me of the day's dread I often find myself in a darkened room, illuminated by the sickly glow of my laptop screen thinking to myself, "how could anarchistnews.org better improve its offerings, functionality, user experience, etc. so that the community of anewsians could more satisfyingly (and anarchistically!) interact with one another and better engage with the always interesting and thought provoking article content?"

TOTW: Communication

dawgz > society!

Hello. Never before has there been so much communication within the anarchist space, but perhaps, so little [sic]. There are so many podcasts, news sites for specific anarchist locales, video projects hosted outside of YouTube, blogging platforms hosted away from the big sites, and social media links the plenty that lead outside of the new normal, among the plethora, if you're following closely.

TOTW: Maintaining and Developing Online Spaces

Maintaining and Developing Online Spaces

As you may have noticed, the Anarchist News site, as well as some related anarchist sites, were down for a while and are now back online. Some haters probably rejoiced at that, while others, such as myself, were saddened to see that news about Anarchist News. During that time I took took the opportunity to look around at some of the other anarchist spaces online and I was surprised to see how active and lively some anarchist forums are, particularly in such mainstream disreputable places such as Facebook and Reddit. I also noticed that many of the people active in these spaces say that they are new to the ideas of anarchism and are interested in learning more.

Anews Day Zero

Before you ask, yes we know we have been down for 48 hours, and yes we know that anews time does not extend prior to that downtime. We begin again from the ashes of a database crash and burn. We'll fix it (although we probably need an expert at innodb) but for now it is more important to get back up and running than be precious about the past.

Perhaps anarchism is more about our glorious future than the past anyways, right? We joke!
