Every passing year, the forces of domination holding the planet in a chokehold seem only to continue tightening their grip upon our throats. Those of us who live in Tsí Tkarón:to (so-called Toronto) face a growing number of daily threats ranging from a never-ending affordability crisis to a resurgence of white-nationalists marching through the streets. The provincial government at Queen’s Park wages war against everyday people across the region, while the merchants of death headquartered on Bay Street continue to desecrate the land and reap profits from genocide on Turtle Island and beyond.

We are very excited to officially announce the ACABbq 2024. The first iteration of this event will be held on August 11th, 2024 from 12pm-6pm at Dufferin Grove Park, Toronto, Ontario. It is a summer barbecue for anarchists in Toronto, Ontario, and beyond. Everyone is welcome to come together enjoy some free food, read some radical lit and share ideas. Toronto needs a flourishing anarchist scene, and we hope to rekindle the destruction of hierarchy in this city overrun with liberals. Whether you are an anarchist, anarcho-curious, left-leaning, or sympathetic, there is a place for you here.

This evening, we dropped a banner over highway 403 going towards Toronto in solidarity with the five people in Minneapolis facing serious felony charges in connection to a New Year’s eve noise demo in that city. Although we’re glad all five are out on bail, the arrests and charges mark a significant escalation of repression against an international anarchist tradition.

From Toronto Anarchist Bookfair

We are excited to announce the return of the Toronto Anarchist Bookfair! The 2019 Bookfair will take place September 28 at the Centre for Social Innovation – Annex, on the traditional territories of the Anishnaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat peoples. The Bookfair will be a space for everyone from experienced organizers to those simply curious about anarchism to share ideas and information, develop skills, and build the community capacity to create a world that aligns with our anarchist aspirations. There will be space to explore anarchist history and ideas, as well as their application to grassroots organizing and ongoing struggles. The Bookfair will include workshops, info tables, book sellers and social events. This is an accessible space that aims to centre BIPOC and other marginalized voices.
