MhTAC announces Lee Shevek reading group

On April 7th, at 10AM, the Prairie Cafe will be encompassed by a wave of reclaimed, bejeweled, healing masculinity (and femininity and nothing and everything and whatever we crave) from the tranarchists of Middleton Hills. We will be discussing two short texts by Lee Shevek--"Butch Anarchy" and "Intimate Authoritarianism"--with a focus on ways to shatter patriarchal and abusive dynamics through an anarchist understanding of their structures and violatory nature...

Report-back from the October 21st Counter-demonstration in Defense of Trans Youth

From MTL Counter-info

While the logic of counter-protest can place us on the defensive, intuition tells us that we can move beyond a purely reactive posture — that we have something to gain — when we get organized on a basis of solidarity and put our faith in each other rather than media, law or the police.

MhTAC announces insurgent queer reading group in suburbs

So we are hosting a reading group, at the Prairie Cafe on November 18 from 10 AM to noon CT. To send the shivers of releasing power--the White Flag, surrender--through the profoundly closeted onlookers who will inevitably be horrified, and to awaken the warmth of autonomy--the Black Flag, transgression--in those who would dominate us and erase themselves. Our text is "White Flag / Black Flag: A Spiritual Anarchism Workbook," a work that explores the individualist anarchist values of self-liberation without the domination of others fused with classical Chinese literary structures of chance and choice.

"many blame queers for the decline of this society— we take pride in this. some believe that we intend to shred-to-bits this civilization and its moral fabric—they couldn't be more accurate. we're often described as depraved, decadent, and revolting—but oh, they ain't seen nothing yet." - be gay do crime

Kingston: Slow Roll 1 Million March For Children and Counter Protest

a rally

Anonymous Submission to North Shore Counter-Info

Here in Kingston, the September 20th anti-trans demonstration was a bit larger than expected but still did not manage to outnumber the crowd who showed up to counter-protest in solidarity with trans youth and in support of access to gender affirming care as well as open and inclusive 2SLGBTQIA+ education in schools.

From the counter-protest organizers:

Philadelphia: The Anti-Parent Turn: A report back from the art march

From Philly Anti-Capitalist

...the intent behind the march was to mobilize against Moms for Liberty, and create space for a smidge of crime while remaining relatively accessible, and to end America. We accomplished two of these three goals. Anarchist mobilizations in Philly can often feel intimidating and stressful, we’d like to get better at opening space for people to feel good, dance, chant, and grow confident in what we’re able to do together. Anarchy can be an expression of cathartic rage through which we feel fleeting moments of joy. We know this can be harder to do when we’re on federal property, surrounded by cops, in Olde City. We would love to hear about how other people felt about the march.

Anarchists Confront Far-Right and TERF Coalition in DC

We were about 25-30 people deep that day, armed only with whistles, pots and pans, tranarchy flags, protest signs and one (surprisingly loud) bullhorn. The transphobic coalition that converged on June 23rd , ostensibly for the 50th anniversary of Title IX, was a mix of far-Right wing christofascists and TERFs. The groups involved were Independent Women’s Voice, WoLF (Women’s Liberation Front), WDI USA, Concerned Women For America, Independent Women’s Network, Independent Women’s Law Center, Family Research Council, Save Women’s Sports, Alliance Defending Freedom, The Heritage Foundation, Young Women For America, and the Independent Women’s Forum.

The Fight for Gender Self-Determination

from CrimethInc.

Confronting the Assault on Trans People

Over the last two years, a wave of anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ legislation has swept the United States. Proposals in dozens of state legislatures have aimed to stop schoolteachers from discussing gender or sexuality—to prevent kids from using bathrooms or playing on sports teams as their self-determined gender—to force school officials to “out” trans kids to their parents—and to make it illegal for trans kids to get appropriate medical care.

Solidarity

from Nudism as an Illegalism

What happened at Wi Spa was part of a larger story as soon as that went viral. It was, in fact, for at least a brief moment, The Story for both the “gender-critical” and anti-fascist commentariats, in the United States at least. This is what led to the rallies, which I am sure would have had various negative effects if left unopposed (difficulty for staff just working a job at Wi Spa, difficulty for many customers but certainly customers who are trans or might look trans, a sense of victory for the anti-trans side and/or their buddies the Nazis and the “Western chauvinists”), and so then there was also counteraction (widely framed as “antifa”), with all of its inherent risk for the side that, on other days of the week and/or with every breath, also happens to oppose the police, the colonial state, capitalism (of all kinds), the American flag, etc.

Archaeologists for Trans Liberation

from Black Trowel Collective

The Black Trowel Collective strives for the shared liberation of all human beings. We stand against those who weaponize their platforms and privilege to attack trans people. It is the position of the Black Trowel Collective that an archaeological understanding of the past is incompatible with transphobia and so-called ‘gender critical’ or trans-exclusionary radical feminism. There is overwhelming evidence from past societies that our current ways of understanding sex and gender are fleeting and contingent. Neither sex nor gender are fixed in aspect or immutable over time and between cultures. As anarchists, we are impelled to mobilize this knowledge into action and we urge the actions that follow.
