Czechia: Release of Existence # 1/2024

From Anarchistické federace
April 10, 2024

There is an ongoing discussion within the Anarchist Federation (AF) about gender balance in our media since the spring, when the issue dedicated to J. Hašek was published. The truth is that the majority of the texts published in our revues are by men, and men often play a central role in the texts themselves. We have therefore decided that in the future we will try to focus on this disproportion and eliminate it as much as possible. Furthermore, young queer people have expanded our ranks, and with their arrival, debates about the language we use have intensified.

Iran: Statement of the Federation of Anarchism Era to Anonymous fellow confreres

“FEAR HAS NO PLACE IN FREEDOM” (Anonymous)

“Anonymous” has managed to hack several government websites, including the hypocritical Radio & TV station (iribnews.ir) in recent days, after the Shia Islamic “Moral Security Police” brutal murder of the 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mahsa (Jina) Amini. They support the uprising of the Iranian people against the ruling fascist Islamic State in Iran. We support Anonymous!

Sex, Politics and Anarchism

From The Commoner by Elaine Leeder

American Jewish Anarchist Women, 1920-1950

In the summer of 1986, I had the opportunity to interview eight women who were then between the ages of seventy-three and one hundred years old. Some of the women had identified as anarchists for fifty years. In a series of discussions, I spoke with them about their lives, their values, their relationships, and their political work. With remarkable candour they shared with me intimate details, starting with their childhoods, working their way through the most personal of issues — including family life — and finally covering their final years. These stories can be called the ‘politics of sexuality’ because their interpersonal relationships were strongly connected to their political ideologies, embodied on the day-to-day level.
