Czechia: Release of Existence # 1/2024

From Anarchistické federace
April 10, 2024

There is an ongoing discussion within the Anarchist Federation (AF) about gender balance in our media since the spring, when the issue dedicated to J. Hašek was published. The truth is that the majority of the texts published in our revues are by men, and men often play a central role in the texts themselves. We have therefore decided that in the future we will try to focus on this disproportion and eliminate it as much as possible. Furthermore, young queer people have expanded our ranks, and with their arrival, debates about the language we use have intensified.

Czechia: Activities of the Anarchist Federation in 2023

From Anarchistické Federace, January 29, 2024

The Anarchist Federation (AF) has been operating continuously since 1995 and is without a doubt the longest operating anarchist organization in Czechia. But that doesn't mean it claims a monopoly on local anti-authoritarian organization. On the contrary, it supports organisational diversity as it is a healthy aspect of the anarchist movement. This means, among other things, that a significant part of the membership of our Federation is also active in other, more specifically targeted groups. Some of us are active in, for example, the Food not Bombs, Limity jsme my, Dekonstrukce, Opravdu dobré squaty (ODS), NoLog, Sdílené domy, MSDN, Trhlina, Cocina Perdida, Výbor na obranu revoluce v Rojavě and others.

From Anarchistická federace
October 17, 2023

In the autumn issue of the anarchist review Existence we decided to devote ourselves to a seemingly mundane topic – food. However, when we will take a closer look at food, we will find out that it has a huge range of dimensions. It’is surprising that it’s not more reflected in anarchist theory. We take food for granted a bit too much, but for many people in the world, even in the Western world, it isn’t. Therefore, food is viewed from many perspectives throughout the Existence.
